‘We did a worse job than the others’ – Vasseur blames Ferrari set-up for ‘tough situation’ in Qatar

2025 Qatar Grand Prix: Piastri left ‘speechless’ after missing out on victory

Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur reflects on his team scoring just four points across the Qatar Sprint weekend.

Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has conceded that they “did a worse job” than their rivals in the Qatar Grand Prix, which contributed to one of their lowest points hauls of the season.

The Scuderia ended the weekend with four points after neither driver scored in the Sprint and Charles Leclerc could only manage P8 in Sunday’s race. They claimed fewer points on just one other occasion this season – their double DNF at Zandvoort.

Ferrari's theory for why its Qatar Grand Prix was so atrocious

Ferrari thinks its terrible Qatar Grand Prix went well beyond a lack of development having pulled it back towards improved midfield Formula 1 rivals.

Instead, boss Fred Vasseur suspects its woes on the Lusail track, which included both cars finishing well outside the points in the sprint, were related to set-up complications triggered by unusually high tyre pressures.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton endured a weekend that they would rather forget in Qatar as neither was able to challenge anywhere near the front.

‘A lot of bad things happened’: the most shocking moments from the Diddy docuseries

Netflix and 50 Cent’s harrowing new series looks back at the disgraced music mogul’s rise to fame and fall from grace

The controversial Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning had already been called a “shameful hitpiece” by the disgraced mogul’s lawyers after a trailer was released on Monday.

Now after all four episodes have been dropped on Netflix, it’s been called “grimly necessary” and a “relentless” portrait of “a terrifying individual” by critics.

The series, produced by Combs’s longtime rival Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, chronicles his rise to fame and details some of the allegations made against him over the years.

Diddy hits out at 'shameful' and 'illegal' Netflix documentary

Lawyers for Sean "Diddy" Combs have hit out at a new Netflix documentary produced by rapper 50 Cent, which they say is "a shameful hit piece" that "relied on stolen footage".

The four-part documentary, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, was released on Tuesday and is billed as a "staggering examination" of the hip-hop mogul, who was convicted on prostitution-related charges earlier this year.

It includes what Netflix described as "explosive" footage of Combs filmed in the days before his arrest, including a phone conversation with his lawyers.

The director said she obtained the footage legally, but Combs' spokesman said it was "fundamentally unfair, and illegal" to use his private footage.

Orange Juice May Do Much More For Your Body Than Scientists Ever Realized

Most of us think of orange juice as a simple breakfast habit, something you pour without much thought. Yet scientists are discovering that this everyday drink may be doing far more in the body than quenching thirst.

A recent study has shown that regular orange juice consumption can influence the activity of thousands of genes inside our immune cells. Many of these genes help control blood pressure, calm inflammation, and manage the way the body processes sugar, all of which play an important role in long-term heart health.

The study followed adults who drank 500ml of pure pasteurised orange juice every day for two months. After 60 days, many genes associated with inflammation and higher blood pressure had become less active.

Dewald Brevis lit up the opening ODI with a moment of sheer brilliance, pulling off a breathtaking one-handed diving catch at backward point to dismiss Ruturaj Gaikwad for 8 off 14 balls. Flying full stretch to his right, Brevis produced the breakthrough South Africa badly needed, ending a cautious third-wicket stand of 22 runs in 5.1 overs.

The dismissal offered some relief for the visitors, with Virat Kohli continuing to hold firm at the other end, unbeaten on a commanding 85 off 78 deliveries. Washington Sundar walked in at No. 5 for the first time in his career, with India 184 for 3 in 26.2 overs. Washington Sundar, struggling to rotate the strike during his time at the crease, managed just 13 off 19 balls before finding mid-off in an attempt to accelerate, leaving India 200 for 4 in 30.3 overs with Kohli on 88 off 83.

Fans accuse CSK captain after burning golden chance in IND vs SA 1st ODI

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s long-awaited return to India’s ODI team did not go as planned, and fans on social media quickly expressed their disappointment after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain was dismissed for just eight runs in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi.

Gaikwad earned his recall following Shreyas Iyer’s injury. But his comeback innings was cut short by a stunning moment of brilliance from Dewald Brevis, who took a flying one-handed catch at backward point.

While trying to cut a ball slightly outside off-stump from Ottneil Baartman, he sliced it in the air, only for Brevis to leap sideways and pull off a sensational catch. The effort immediately brought back memories of legendary fielder Jonty Rhodes, and Brevis’ athletic grab went viral online within minutes.

Robin Smith, former England cricketer, dies aged 62

The former England cricketer Robin Smith has died at the age of 62, with his family and former county Hampshire saying they were devastated by his loss.

Smith played 62 Tests and 71 one-day internationals for England between 1988 and 1996 and was a resolute middle-order bulwark for the side during often difficult times for the team. He particularly excelled against pace, making his highest Test score of 175 against the fearsome West Indies attack at Antigua in 1994.

He made 4,236 Test runs overall at an average of 43.67, including nine centuries.

The Durban-born Smith, known as “The Judge”, also captained Hampshire from 1998 to 2002, having helped them win the Benson & Hedges Cup in 1988 and 1992, and the NatWest Trophy in 1991.

'A fearless hero for hapless England' – Robin Smith obituary

Robin Smith, who has died at the age of 62, was one of the finest players of fast bowling during an era when the England team were often viewed as a national joke.

Smith, moustache bristling, bravely taking on the terrifying West Indies pace attack or battling it out against the unrelenting Australians, was a familiar sight for England supporters for nearly a decade.

His signature shot, an immensely powerful square cut, made him a feared opponent and earned him admirers around the world.

Loyal to his friends as well as being respected by his opponents, his biggest battles ultimately came after retirement, and his off-field struggles with mental health and alcoholism were laid bare in his later years.
