    Fresh off the Brisbane Broncos poaching Newcastle's recruitment manager O'Sullivan, it appears the Perth Bears might now be interested in chief executive officer Parr.

    Reports have emerged suggesting Parr could be a contender for the incoming NRL side's vacant CEO position.

    The experienced administrator has history with Perth. He worked for the city's former rugby league side, the Western Reds, in the 1990s.

    After Anthony De Ceglie stepped down as Perth CEO last week, the Bears could certainly do with Parr's football nous.

    Greens senator takes leave amid allegations of inappropriate behaviour

    "Multiple allegations" of inappropriate behaviour in the presence of women have been made against Greens senator Jordon Steele-John.

    Senator Steele-John says he "utterly rejects this characterisation" and is prepared to address the allegations.

    The senator has taken leave from the party room and referred the matter to the WA Greens.

    The Greens say WA senator Jordon Steele-John has taken leave from the party room following reports he made inappropriate comments towards women.

    The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that a letter from seven party members was sent to Greens leader David Shoebridge on Tuesday night.

    Greens senator takes leave following allegations of inappropriate comments

    Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John has taken leave from the party room after seven members demanded an investigation into alleged inappropriate comments towards women.

    The 32-year-old is accused of concerning behaviour in the presence of women, with claims spanning almost a decade, from 2017 to 2025.

    A letter sent to Greens leader David Shoebridge contained accusations he said the party would take "incredibly seriously".

    "I received correspondence in relation to Senator Steele–John earlier this week, and I want to be clear that I and the party room take these matters incredibly seriously," said Shoebridge at a press conference in Canberra on Thursday.

    The battle to become Canberra's first-choice halfback is set to intensify after the Raiders re-signed Ethan Sanders until the end of 2028.

    Sanders was rewarded with a renewed contract after enjoying a breakout year with the Green Machine, where his dazzling kicking game earned him the NRL's Rookie of the Year award.

    In early 2011, sometime after the film was released on home video, I sat down with mum to watch what she had heard was a “new ballet movie” by Darren Aronofsky. I was 12 years old, spending school nights training to be a professional dancer. Without any warmup, knowing very little of the pointe work that earned Natalie Portman her best actress Oscar, we pressed play on Black Swan.

    Well before Brendan Fraser’s time on the couch and the many houseguests of Mother!, Aronofsky increased the wattage with a companion piece to follow his heavy-hitter, The Wrestler. Watching Nina Sayers’ (Portman) intense physical trials and her stilted sexual awakening, with my mum beside me, I was understandably disturbed. At this point in my adolescence, I thought Jumanji was a scary movie. Like the film’s injured bird, I was being introduced to a darkness I didn’t understand. And somehow I couldn’t get enough. Why did it feel so good?

    Arnaud urges Austin to take responsibility after heavy Nashville loss

    Davy Arnaud lamented Austin FC's sluggish display in their 4-1 defeat to Nashville SC last time out and urged his players to take responsibility ahead of facing Los Angeles FC in MLS.

    Ruthless roster calls facing new Broncos boss after $2.5m move

    The Broncos have a new man in charge of recruitment with Peter O’Sullivan taking charge at the club on a rich deal.

    News Corp has reported that O’Sullivan was on a deal of $350,000-a-season at Newcastle and contracted until 2029, but the Broncos offered a $2.5 million five-year contract to persuade him to leave the grand finalists.

    O’Sullivan took over recruitment at the Knights in June 2024 after helping construct the Dolphins’ inaugural roster.

    He was the architect behind Newcastle’s deal to bring Dylan Brown to the club on a $13 million 10-year contract.

    Now he’ll take charge of an organisation determined to return to its status as a consistent top eight club after an abysmal premiership defence.

    The Broncos have officially confirmed that scouting guru Peter O’Sullivan will join the club as its new General Manager of Recruitment.

    An eight-year-old girl could have been saved if an emergency department doctor had realised the urgency of escalating her care to intensive care clinicians, a coroner has found.

    Amrita Varshini Lanka’s parents nodded and wiped away tears as Victoria’s deputy state coroner Paresa Spanos handed down her findings on Wednesday.

    Amrita died from lymphocytic myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, at Monash Medical Centre on April 30, 2022.

    She had presented at the emergency department about 1pm on April 29, following two days of stomach pain, nausea and vomiting.

    A Victorian coroner has delivered her findings into the 2022 death of Amrita Lanka at a hospital in Melbourne's south-east. (Supplied)

    A doctor at the Monash Medical Centre missed opportunities to save the life of a young girl in 2022, a coroner has found.

    Amrita Lanka died from myocarditis less than 24 hours after being triaged, with a junior doctor telling the coroner's court he did not appreciate the severity of her condition.

    Monash Health says it will carefully consider the coroner's findings and is committed to improving patient safety.

    The actions of a junior doctor working in a busy emergency department contributed to the death of a young girl whose life could have been saved, a Victorian coroner has found.
