In The White Lotus, they are the staff and guests at a variety of luxury resorts. In Sirens, the personal assistants of kabillionaires. OSLO— Norwegian Air Force F-35A fighters scrambled from Evenes Air Station (EVE) on 15 April to intercept an unidentified aircraft approaching Norwegian airspace. The Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) mission identified the contact as a Russian Ilyushin Il-38 maritime patrol aircraft.

A Norwegian (DY) passenger jet was placed in a holding pattern during the scramble as the military alert took priority over civil air traffic. The F-35s were airborne for approximately two hours before returning to Evenes (EVE), and the interception concluded without incident, ht.no reported.

Norwegian fighter jets were reportedly sent out more than 40 times last year to identify and document a total of 53 Russian fighter jets flying close to Norwegian airspace. During Easter came reports of an unusually close encounter in the Arctic, which Norway regularly patrols on behalf of NATO.

While the Russians claim there was nothing hostile about the encounter, it portrayed for the second time in recent weeks the drama that can occur in, under and above the seas off Norway. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has issued a statement following "invaluable" discussions with current Formula 1 drivers over the 2026 power unit regulations.

The City of Hobart’s tree care team started removing the sequoias today, with the work expected to wrap up by Friday.

The council said the trees have been in decline since autumn last year and haven’t responded to repeated treatment.
