    The World of Harry Potter Arrives to the Epic Ecosystem

    Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Epic are celebrating the world of Harry Potter across the Epic ecosystem this December in Fortnite, Rocket League and the Epic Games Store.

    Hogwarts Legacy is free on the Epic Games Store now through December 18 at 11 AM ET as part of the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale. By spending at least two hours in the world of Hogwarts Legacy by December 18, players can earn the Chocolate Frog Back Bling in Fortnite.

    Later in December, the Fortnite Shop will feature Outfits and accessories inspired by the wizarding world. Players can customize each Outfit to represent one of the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.

    Is Fortnite down? When will the game be back online with Winterfest?

    Yes, the popular Battle Royale game officially went offline at 4 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, Dec. 18 for a scheduled update to launch Fortnite's annual Winterfest.

    Fortnite's Chapter 7, Season 1 Pacific Break began on Nov. 29 following the mini Simpsons season.

    "Winterfest blows into the Golden Coast! Downtime for v39.11 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand," Fortnite Status posed on X.

    However, Epic Games did have a message to Xbox users with this update: "Please note that the update on Xbox devices may be larger than usual."

    Fortnite's annual Winterfest takes place during the regular season of the game, but gives players daily free prizes in the form of presents they get to open and other winter-themed aspects in the game.

    Melburnians are sweltering through the first heatwave of summer but preparing for an unseasonably cold Christmas day, as emergency warnings are issued for an out of control grass fire near Benalla.

    The temperature hit a top of 38.3 degrees at Melbourne’s Olympic Park around 2pm on Thursday, while Walpeup in the Mallee region sizzled at 43.5 degrees just before 4pm.

    An emergency warning was issued for Broken Creek, Goomalibee and Goorambat in the Hume region on Thursday afternoon, with residents urged to leave immediately as the more than 1400-hectares grass fire travels east.

    Own a First-Gen Starlink Router? SpaceX Wants to Replace It for Free

    If you're a Starlink early adopter, SpaceX might be sending you a free Wi-Fi router.

    In an email to customers, SpaceX warns that its Gen 1 routers will soon become obsolete. The routers, also classified as UTR-201, were bundled with first-generation Starlink kits in 2020 and are best known for their rounded dish design. Gen 1 was phased out a year later, after Starlink transitioned to a flat-dish model and Gen 2 router.   

    SpaceX now says that software updates for the Gen 1 router “will be discontinued in the near future,” as part of the company’s “ongoing upgrades for security, performance, and reliability.”

    In response, the company is offering affected customers the Starlink Router Mini, which was released earlier this year for $40. “As a thank you for being a longstanding customer, we are offering you a free Router Mini, a dual-band router with Wi-Fi 6,” the company says in the email.

    Carlos Alcaraz is parting ways with his longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, the man who guided him to the pinnacle of men's tennis during a seven-year partnership, the top-ranked player announced Wednesday on social media.

    With Ferrero, Alcaraz claimed six Grand Slam titles: two French Open titles, two Wimbledon crowns and two US Opens. He amassed 24 tour-level titles, including eight Masters 1000 trophies. The 22-year-old had a career-best and season-leading 71 match wins and claimed eight titles this season.

    Alcaraz splits with long-time coach Ferrero

    Carlos Alcaraz has surprisingly split with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero after seven years working together.

    Alcaraz has worked with Ferrero – who won the French Open as a player in 2003 – since he was a teenager, winning all of his 24 career titles alongside him.

    That includes six grand slam triumphs, two of which came this year at Roland-Garros and the US Open, and eight ATP 1000 crowns.

    Alcaraz was just 15 when he started working with Ferrero, with their partnership ending after he secured the year-end number one spot for the second time (also 2022).

    No reason was given for the spilt as Alcaraz announced the news via a statement on social media, which read: "Thank you for turning childhood dreams into realities.

    David Jones confirms the closure of two key locations

    David Jones has confirmed the closure of two key locations, as Australian department stores continue to struggle during challenging economic times and a radically changed retail landscape.

    The retailer's stores at Castle Towers Shopping Centre in Castle Hill and Tuggerah on the NSW Central Coast will close their doors.

    Customers divided after David Jones suddenly closes stores

    Upscale department store David Jones has announced the sudden permanent closure of two key stores.

    The company has confirmed its Castle Towers and Tuggerah outlets in NSW will be shutting their doors for good. Both stores have been a shopping haven for 34 years.

    Castle Towers will close from January 19, while Tuggerah will shut up shop on January 12.
