25 Unforgettable Places to Go in 2026: Mauritius

In 2026, Mauritius is positioning itself more clearly as a destination for travelers who want cultural experiences, breathtaking landscapes, and incredible wildlife — even travelers on a budget. Improved air access, a growing slate of inland experiences, and renewed attention to conservation are giving visitors more reasons to look beyond the shoreline (and more ways to travel responsibly).

Getting there is simpler than it once was. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport continues to build its role as a regional hub, with strong connections through Europe, the Middle East, and southern Africa. For US travelers, one-stop routes via Paris, London, Dubai, and Johannesburg make Mauritius more accessible than many travelers assume, and once on the island, distances are short. You can drive from the airport to the capital, Port Louis, in under an hour, and cross the island coast-to-coast in a single morning.

Alex Levy’s chip-in lifts him to -8 at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open

Alex Levy showcased his skill with an impressive chip-in to move to -8 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. After losing his card last season, Levy is making the most of his invite this week, demonstrating resilience and determination on the course.

The French golfer has been quietly building momentum throughout the tournament, and this crucial shot underlines his ability to perform under pressure. The chip-in not only improved his position on the leaderboard but also energized his performance for the remaining rounds.

Alex Levy’s journey this season has been a testament to perseverance. After losing his DP World Tour card last year, he received a special invitation to compete in Mauritius. This opportunity has allowed him to prove that he still belongs among the elite players on the DP World Tour.

Compiled by a panel of industry experts, the 100 suburbs in this year’s list were selected based on several growth drivers that should not only support home values in the year ahead but see prices outperform against the broader market.

Tough 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness priced

The new-generation 2026 Subaru Outback has been priced from $48,990 plus on-road costs (ORCs), with five variants set to be offered across the Outback, Premium, Touring, Wilderness, and Wilderness Apex grades.

Having debuted at the New York motor show in April, the seventh-gen Outback is just about here and it’s launching with not one, but two hardcore Wilderness variants at the top of tree.

However, starting at the bottom of the range, the entry-level Outback all-wheel drive (AWD) is powered by a carryover 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 137kW/254Nm – 1kW less than before – but stands 7mm higher off the ground than its predecessor and offers an extra 8-litre of boot space (530L).

2026 Subaru Outback: Boxy new SUV confirmed for Australia with higher prices

Subaru has confirmed the next-generation Outback and the Wilderness sub-brand for Australia, but the boxy new SUV will bring higher prices.

Subaru has confirmed the heavily revised seventh-generation Outback is coming to Australia in 2026, when it will bring an edgier design, a larger body, and a price rise of nearly $5000 at the bottom of the range.

The newest iteration of Subaru’s wagon-like ‘large’ SUV was revealed at the New York motor show in April this year, showcasing boxier proportions with more aggressive styling and a higher roofline, and vastly improved interior tech.

Australian specifications leaked in government documents earlier this year have now been confirmed, along with local pricing for the new model, via a recorded video presentation. The five-variant Outback range now starts at $48,990 before on-roads, which is $4800 more than the outgoing model at the bottom of the lineup.

Meg Lanning in high demand: teams that can target ex-DC star in WPL mega-auction

When the WPL 2026 mega auction arrives, one name will quietly, yet powerfully, shape the bidding strategies of several franchises: Meg Lanning.

The former Australia captain may no longer be an international regular, but her value in franchise cricket has only grown. Shockingly, Lanning was released by the Delhi Capitals Women even after guiding them to the final in all three seasons.

She was the Orange Cap winner in the inaugural WPL season, scoring 345 runs in 9 innings with trademark composure at the top.

Now, with squads being rebuilt from the ground up in the WPL 2026 mega auction, three teams stand out as strong contenders for her signature.

A new generation of Australia's best-selling SUV, the Toyota RAV4, is due here next year, offering plug-in hybrid power and a GR Sport flagship for the first time.

Due here before the end of the first quarter (January to March) of 2026, the new RAV4 will be offered in six model grades across the lineup, including front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions with hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options.

2026 Toyota RAV4: Australian pricing announced ahead of early 2026 deliveries

Australian pricing for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 has been revealed ahead of its local launch in the first quarter of 2026. Priced from $45,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level GX 2WD, the cost of entry to the RAV4 range has climbed by $3730 compared with the current model thanks to extra standard features.

As announced in September 2025, the Australian lineup for the new RAV4 has grown with the addition of new plug-in hybrid models, including the top-spec GR Sport. The entry-level GX and second-tier GXL continue as before, but the former top-spec Edge is now a mid-spec grade, with the XSE and Cruiser sitting above it. The GR Sport, Edge and XSE Hybrid are equipped with all-wheel drive as standard, with every other model also available as a front-driver.
