The 28-year-old was bought by CSK in the IPL 2025 mega auction and retained ahead of the 19th season of the tournament. Ghosh is the 12th bowler to take seven or more wickets in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match, during his team's contest against Himachal Pradesh on Monday in Jaipur.
He took figures of 7/42 from 9.4 overs as Himachal Pradesh were dismissed for 271 in the first innings of the game.
The Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Match 44 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.
A key moment of the match came early when Anshul Kamboj dismissed Will Jacks in the second over of the game, courtesy of a stunning catch from debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh at deep backward point.
