PAL deploys A350-1000 daily on Manila–San Francisco route ahead of year-end peak
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced that it is now operating its flagship Airbus A350-1000 daily between Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), ahead of the year-end travel peak.
The airline says that the daily deployment gives travelers on the US West Coast access to its newest long-haul product every day of the week. It also adds premium seating as the busiest travel season of the year approaches, when many Filipino-Americans fly home for the holidays.
San Francisco is one of PAL’s most important North American gateways and a key link to the large Filipino-American community on the West Coast. Through Manila, passengers from San Francisco can also connect to destinations across the Philippines and the wider Asia Pacific region.
Philippine Airlines A350 offers value despite service gaps
The A350-1000 business-class flight from Manila to San Francisco paired a new cabin and good food with unusable Wi-Fi and service the reviewer found impersonal. The 11-hour-55-minute journey was considered worthwhile at a competitive fare, despite room to improve onboard service.

Philippine Airlines Business Class Airbus A350 Review: Great Seats, But Missing Heart
For the long haul segment of the return portion of my first class quest to Japan, I flew Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A350-1000 business class on the 11hr55min flight from Manila (MNL) to San Francisco (SFO). I was very much looking forward to this flight, given that this is the carrier’s new flagship aircraft, featuring all-new cabins.
Ultimately my Philippine Airlines business class flight was good, especially when you account for value, given that Philippine Airlines tends to undercut the competition on price. If you can get over the awful ground experience in Manila, then there’s definitely value to be had here.
