Man found dead by police after 'serious incident' in Perth's south

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man at a house in Perth's southern suburbs.

WA Police say they were called to a residence on Nye Way in Orelia about 2:20pm yesterday after "reports of a serious incident".

Forensics officers have combed the front yard for evidence. (ABC News: Samantha Goerling)

In a statement, police said another man "known to the deceased" was found inside the house and taken into custody.

The investigation is being led by the Homicide Squad and remains ongoing.

WA’s Cooper Connolly has had to travel separate to Australia’s team while wearing a mask, as the tourists weigh up his potential return to the Test team in South Africa.

Connolly was spotted leaving Kingsmead in a van after training on Thursday (Friday AEDT) afternoon on the eve of the first Test against South Africa, while the rest of the side moved back to the Durban team hotel on a bus.

Aussie residents sound alarm after 'concerning' backyard discovery in broad daylight

Abnormal wildlife behaviour is being reported in backyards across the South Coast of NSW, sparking concern across affected communities.

Shoalhaven Bat Clinic has documented flying foxes seeking food on the ground, including from the shrivelled branches of chopped-down cumquat trees.

Rescuer Trista Thorpe told Yahoo News the ordinarily nocturnal creatures have also been seen underneath mulberry trees during the day, rather than returning to roost in their camps.

The clinic's investigations into the phenomenon began on September 26, after they received multiple calls from concerned residents.

For the last week of September, the clinic responded to over 70 bats, and the problem appears to be worsening.

Around 100 businesses caught buying fake reviews in largest probe by Singapore's competition watchdog

In the first phase of the investigation, 45 businesses that admitted to purchasing bogus reviews from the sole director of digital marketing firm Reputifly will have to apologise publicly and commit to removing such reviews.

SINGAPORE: Ranging from restaurants to hair salons, 45 businesses will be required to apologise publicly after admitting to purchasing bogus reviews from a supplier to boost their online ratings, Singapore’s competition watchdog said on Wednesday (Sep 30).

These companies have committed to stop using fake reviews, and will be required to remove existing ones and report their progress in doing so, along with other measures, the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS) said.

The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore took enforcement action against a fake‑review provider and businesses that purchased fake online reviews.

On 30 September 2026 the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS) issued a media release announcing enforcement action against a provider of fake‑review services and 45 businesses that procured such reviews.

The provider was identified as Julian Tung Yan Kai, sole director of Reputifly Pte. Ltd. and operator of the websites BuyReviewSG and GetReviewSG. CCS said the provider supplied fake‑review services to approximately 100 businesses from on or before 2023. According to CCS, the provider used generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to create reviews that varied in style and incorporated Singapore‑specific details, offered a rating calculator to help clients achieve desired Google ratings, and operated an online dashboard for generating, managing and tracking fake reviews. Reviewers were recruited via Telegram channels, paid to post the content, and instructed to avoid duplicate reviews; the provider also offered to replace up to 30 percent of reviews removed by platforms.

“Caller is unable to remove patient from bed,” a responding officer said in the audio obtained by Page Six.

The dispatcher added that there were “units responding” to the incident and that “CPR is in progress.”

Another responding officer described the incident, sharing that a “62-year-old male” was “not conscious” and “not breathing.”

An automated voice reported that there was a “cardiac arrest” at Kelker-Kelly’s address.

Page Six confirmed on Monday that the “Days of Our Lives” actor died on Oct. 3. He was 62.

He also appeared on two other soap operas, 'Another World' and 'Port Charles.'

Robert Kelker-Kelly, a soap opera star known for his roles on Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and Another World, died Saturday. He was 62.

The St. Peters Police Department told TMZ that officers responded to Kelker-Kelly’s home in Missouri to tend to an unconscious man who was not breathing after complaining of chest pain. At the scene, authorities reportedly attempted life-saving measures, but they were unsuccessful. The cause of death wasn’t immediately available.

Born on April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly made his acting debut in 1987 playing Sam Fowler in Another World. After leaving the soap opera in 1990, he returned in 1996 as Dr. Shane Roberts, also known as Bobby Reno. Overall, he appeared on more than 400 episodes of Another World.

Murray Bridge woman seriously injured in car roll-over

A Murray Bridge woman has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash at Port Wakefield.

Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle roll-over on the Copper Coast Highway at Port Wakefield around 4pm on Sunday.

A Toyota sedan was found on its roof in a paddock.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 66-year-old woman from Murray Bridge, was seriously injured in the crash.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Adelaide for further treatment.

The highway remained open, with speed restrictions in place, while police investigated the crash.

Clarkson replacement named after Roos coaching hunt

North Melbourne have finalised their search for a new head coach, with Jaymie Graham set to take the reins for 2027 and beyond.

The Age reports the Fremantle assistant has won the race and will fill the void left by Alastair Clarkson, who was sacked by the Kangaroos last month.

Nathan Buckley removed himself from the race on Sunday, which opened the door even wider for Graham to walk through and land the position.

Graham had previously vied for the vacant Carlton and Essendon jobs, but was overlooked in favour of Josh Fraser and Mark McVeigh respectively.

The 43-year-old has coached a handful of games at AFL level before, filling in at West Coast and Fremantle during his time as an assistant at both clubs.

North Melbourne coaching job decided: Jaymie Graham appointed

Jaymie Graham will coach North Melbourne in 2027 after winning the race to fill the role vacated by Alastair Clarkson.

Graham, 43, gets the role after a modest playing career (37 games for West Coast from 2005 to 2008), but with a big reputation for his work as an assistant coach, most recently at Fremantle, who fell agonisingly close to winning this year’s premiership.

Graham’s appointment – confirmed by a source with knowledge of the matter but unable to publicly pre-empt the club’s announcement – comes a day after Nathan Buckley removed his giant shadow from the Kangaroos’ coaching race by withdrawing himself from contention. It also comes on the opening day of the AFL trade period.
