‘The world will be amazed:’ Iran’s commanders prepare for further war
Iran has signaled that it is preparing for another round of war with the United States and has issued public threats against Washington and its allies in an apparent bid to deter President Donald Trump from restarting the current conflict.
Over the past month, Iranian military commanders have intensified a series of public messages claiming that Iran has built large stockpiles of new weapons ready to be unleashed on targets beyond the region should the US resume hostilities that began in February.
Iranian officials have threatened to broaden their targets if the conflict resumes, floating options that include cutting undersea internet cables, striking AI data centers, and attacking regional oil and gas facilities.
Iran says it has a 'new operational plan' if the U.S. resumes attacks, as shipping vessels report strikes
A senior Iranian security official warned Sunday that Tehran has prepared a new response plan for any renewed U.S.-Israeli attack, as maritime authorities reported several separate attacks on commercial vessels around the Arabian Peninsula.
"Iran's armed forces have prepared a response to any new act of adventurism that would be far more devastating than the 12-day and 40-day wars," Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in a post on X, referring to attacks by Israel in June 2025, and the conflict triggered by the U.S. and Israel in February.
"Iran's new operational plan will not follow the rules with which they are familiar," Rezaei said in comments translated by Google.

Iran has threatened retaliation if its energy infrastructure is attacked again, while US President Donald Trump endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of a tightly contested election.
Tehran, meanwhile, said its offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz remains on the table, even as its military reported that a supertanker had hit a naval mine while using an unauthorized route.
It was the latest such incident since Iran tightened its control of the key waterway after war erupted on Feb 28 following US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
