Tragic update on Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia
Bruce Willis’ young children are not prepared to deal with their famous father’s death, according to his wife Emma Heming Willis.
The 70-year-old movie legend was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, and in September, he was moved into a separate home where he is receiving 24/7 care for his progressing condition that limits his ability to communicate.
His wife Emma revealed that while her daughters Mabel, 13 and Evelyn, 11, are already “grieving” the loss of their dad’s presence in their lives, they haven’t asked about his death.
“That is the anxiety, right? Like, when will the next shoe drop? But I know that when/if it does, we’ll be ready,” she told USA Today at a conference on death and dying for caregivers.

Following his retirement from acting in 2022 due to an aphasia diagnosis, Willis' family revealed in February 2023 that the actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a brain disorder caused by degeneration of the brain's frontal lobe.
