Mourinho review – if he didn’t want to open up, maybe he shouldn’t have starred in a docuseries…

Football manager José Mourinho stars in a three-parter from the creators of Bros: After the Screaming Stops. Don’t expect it to be quite so entertaining…

Among his previous credits, the director of this mini-series Joe Pearlman can count the revelatory and hilarious 2018 film, Bros: After the Screaming Stops. That documentary worked brilliantly because its subjects seemed so sweetly but devastatingly lacking in discretion or self-awareness that everything they said landed like a line from a Christopher Guest parody. They couldn’t help themselves.

In terms of a character study, storied football manager José Mourinho is a very different kettle of cold fish. Like the Goss twins, he takes himself very seriously indeed, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. He’s something of a closed book. “You are pushing me to speak about myself,” he says, towards the end of the final part of this series. “And I don’t want to.” Which is fair enough but it does beg the question: why then, would you agree to be the subject of an in-depth three part documentary series?

Alone Australia’s new season is ‘the polar opposite’ of what we’ve seen before

For its fourth season, SBS’s survival reality contest Alone Australia went to the ends of the earth in search of a fresh challenge – and not just metaphorically speaking.

“I would say this is quite literally the polar opposite of anything we’ve done before,” says executive producer Riima Daher of the show’s relocation to the Arctic Circle. “So many familiar features of the survival game are still there, so much of the psychological game is still there. But we basically flipped it on its head to take southern-hemisphere survivors up to the northern hemisphere to see what happens.”

WA survivalist Jasper Harvey heads to Finland for season four of SBS’s hit show Alone Australia

When Jasper Harvey, a 24 year-old permaculture practitioner and educator from WA’s South West, decided to apply for the latest season of the hit reality series Alone Australia, he had no idea just how far from home he’d end up.

This year, SBS transplanted 10 brave survivalists — Harvey amongst them — to the wild and spectacularly beautiful area of Sapmi in Finland.

It’s a spectacular place. A place where bears, wolves and reindeer roam freely; where the northern lights shine across frozen subzero wilderness.

It’s also a heck of a long way from Margaret River. And for Harvey, who had never seen snow or ice before — let alone had to live in it for weeks at a time — the Arctic Circle was quite the adjustment.

Iconic bachelor’s handbag gets spicy makeover

Australia’s favourite dinner on a lazy night, the hot roast chook, is being spiced up with the exciting new butter chicken flavour.

The beloved bachelor’s handbag has long had a home in shopping carts after a long day when Aussies don’t have the energy to cook.

Flying off shelves, the last chook becomes a prized item in shopping aisle catfights. That will only intensify when shoppers hear about the newest flavour hitting shelves.

The Butter Chicken Hot Roast Chook combines rich and aromatic spices of a butter chicken with the convenience of the bachelor’s handbag.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to cripple households, three in five Australians are cutting back on eating out and takeaway with more than half opting to cook meals at home, according to Coles.

Coles tries to lure Aussies with new product weeks after rival's $10 launch

Coles has launched a new version of its iconic roast chook, and the reviews so far are on both ends of the spectrum.

Supermarkets are always trying to outdo each other with the best roast chook, and a poll of more than 1,000 Yahoo Lifestyle readers found Woolworths had the best.

Red Rooster undercut them all recently with a $10 takeaway roast chicken that's proved to be very popular.

But Coles could be trying to sway opinion with its new Butter Chicken Hot Roast Chicken, which will only be available for a limited time and will set you back $14.

The supermarket said it combines the obvious deliciousness of the Bachelor's Handbag with the "rich, aromatic spices of butter chicken".

“I didn’t think I’d be here”: Victor Radley lifts lid on Origin call-up after ban

NSW Blues interchange forward Victor Radley has reflected on a rollercoaster 12 months, which saw him suspended at club level with the Sydney Roosters, while also reaching the glorious heights of a State of Origin debut in Game 1.

Radley was pulled up in September for a 10-match suspension without pay, a club-high record, following bringing the Roosters into disrepute in an off-field scandal.

Although later the club board deemed his contributions to the England Ashes side and preseason matches acceptable under their punishment, meaning he returned to the Roosters only after five NRL games this year.

Radley was also on the positive end of rule changes concerning Tier 1 nation eligibility for Origin in February, allowing him to play for England and become available for selection for the Blues.

It's the gotcha moment that's driving Kaeo Weekes to make sure he never gets caught out again.

Victor Radley beat the Canberra Raiders boom fullback in a race for the ball to score what the NSW Blues lock thought was a try in the corner – thanks to a kick from cagey half Daly Cherry-Evans.

The moment came in the 20th minute of the Raiders' 26-0 loss to the Sydney Roosters two weeks ago, with Weekes' blushes saved by the fact Radley was offside.

Lindy Chamberlain says jurors 'didn't understand' the evidence in her case. She wants change

SBS acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country and their connections and continuous care for the skies, lands and waterways throughout Australia.

In this episode of Insight, Lindy Chamberlain and Saxon Mullins put Australia's jury system on trial. Is the idea of twelve members of the community randomly selected to decide whether a person is guilty still fit for purpose? And do they always get it right?

In 1982, a jury found Lindy Chamberlain guilty of murdering her nine-week-old baby Azaria in one of the most famous miscarriages of justice in Australian history.

Lindy spent the next three years in prison before she was released after a crucial piece of evidence was found.

Insight: Lindy Chamberlain: “I’ll go into prison if you take care of my kids.”

In this episode host Kumi Taguchi asks if twelve members of the community randomly selected to decide whether a person is guilty still fit for purpose?

Amongst the forum guests is Lindy Chamberlain who recalls waiting in remand for the 1982 trial verdict, charged with murdering her nine-week-old daughter, Azaria.

“It took hours, which meant they weren’t agreeing with the judge or with one another. The longer it went on, the more I was conscious that there was a problem. The only place I could get away by myself was the screws’ toilet, so I went in there, and I was praying about it, because obviously I wanted to go home to my kids. I felt we’d made good case for that, but obviously something was wrong, and as I was praying, it came to me, I’m not saying the right thing by saying let me go home,” she recalls.

Lindy Chamberlain Advocates for Jury System Reform

Lindy Chamberlain has expressed her belief that jurors in her 1982 trial did not fully grasp the evidence presented, advocating for changes to the Australian jury system. According to SBS News, Chamberlain’s conviction for the murder of her baby Azaria is considered one of Australia’s most significant miscarriages of justice.

Chamberlain served three years in prison before her conviction was overturned in 1988, following the discovery of crucial evidence. She maintains that the jurors were not adequately equipped to understand the complex forensic evidence presented during the trial. “They didn’t understand it. They had no idea,” she stated, highlighting the difficulties faced even by legal professionals in comprehending the evidence.

Every year, an invitation to the Met Gala is treated as a cultural coronation. But for all its exclusivity, not everyone who could attend actually does. And in 2026, several absences felt particularly telling.

As the first Monday in May unfolded on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, attention inevitably drifted from who wore what to who wasn’t there at all. At an event so tightly curated by Anna Wintour, skipping the night, whether by choice, circumstance or even protest, is always worth investigating.

What started with a YouTube search for relationship advice after rejection quickly took Jefferson Nguyen to a destination he did not intend to visit.

He was seeking answers about what young women want young men to be, and how to talk to them. What he discovered turned him into a young man even his loving sister found disturbing.

“When you start getting these feelings as a young man of romance and attraction, and then being rejected, it kind of leads you to a viewpoint of you are not good enough,” says Nguyen, now in his mid-20s. “It becomes an issue of your self-worth.”

Louis Theroux on the Manosphere: ‘It’s Highly Profitable to Be a Dick on the Internet’

It’s been over 30 years since Louis Theroux was first given an opportunity to make documentaries as a reporter on Michael Moore’s TV Nation.

Since then Theroux has become the preeminent documenter of the weird, the extreme, and the dangerous, filming everyone from members of the Westboro Baptist Church to ultra-Zionists in the West Bank.

But in Inside the Manosphere, his first film with Netflix, out March 11, Theroux is tackling what he only somewhat jokingly describes to WIRED as “the final boss battle in the gamified career of Louis Theroux.”

“I've been circling this subject” for years, Theroux tells WIRED from the Squid Game meeting room in Netflix’s London headquarters. “It combines cultlike groupings, misogyny, adult content, creation of pornographic content, and obviously racism. All these taboo areas of life that I've spent my TV work documenting in different forms come together in the manosphere.”
