“The shoot was intended to be a 2-day shoot, but ended up being a three-day shoot once I realized I wanted more scenes in it. It was 35!!! outfits total,” Carpenter revealed at the start of the video. “My sister also hand-stitched ‘manchild’ on my jean shorts.”

Her favorite look, however, was “the red sequin dress from the bridge scene,” she said, though Carpenter noted that “the whole video was built around the white tie-up shirt and jean shorts.”

Five quick hits: Snicko chaos, catching controversy and a Bazball bust-up

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer share a robust conversation, Snicko is decried as "the worst ever" after yet more mix ups, and another catching controversy.

Here are the quick hits from day two of the third Ashes Test.

The player of the series so far, Mitchell Starc, came out swinging on day two, smashing five boundaries in the first three overs of the day on the way to his second 50 of the series.

Don’t complain…: Stokes and Archer in heated Ashes clash

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer have buried the hatchet after their day two clash with a touching gesture from the latter showing all is fine between the two stars after their stunning partnership breathed life back into the third Test.

After their 106-run partnership ended when Stokes (83) was knocked over by a peach from Mitchell Starc, Archer ran almost all the way to the boundary rope to give his frustrated skipper a pat on the back to acknowledge a job well done.

The pair showed the sort of guts and determination England have been lacking so far in the series with their stand helping reduce Australia’s first innings lead to 85 when it appeared as if the Test could effectively be over on the second evening.

McDonald’s Pulls Down AI-Generated Holiday Ad After Deluge of Mockery

Update: McDonald’s has issued a very strange response to the drama.

Thanks to the rise in popularity of generative AI, mainstream companies like Coca-Cola and Google are jumping on the bandwagon to plop out new advertisements. There’s just one issue: pretty much everybody hates it.

This year, McDonald’s decided to get in on the corporate slopfest with a 45-second Christmas spot cooked up for its Netherlands division by the ad agency TBWANeboko. The entire thing is AI, and revolves around the thesis that the holiday season is the “most terrible time of the year.”

Humbug aside, the ad assaults the viewer with rapidly-changing scenes played out in AI’s typically nauseating fashion. Because most videos generated with AI tend to lose continuity after a handful of seconds, short and rapidly-changing scenes have become one of the key tells that the clip you’re watching is AI.

McDonald's pulls AI-generated Christmas advert following backlash

McDonald's Netherlands has taken down a Christmas advert made with Artificial Intelligence (AI) following online backlash.

The 45-second advert was produced with generative AI clips and released publicly on McDonald's Netherlands YouTube channel on 6 December.

Viewers on social media denounced the use of AI in the film, with one commenter calling it "the most god-awful ad I've seen this year".

On 9 December McDonald's Netherlands removed the video, adding in a statement to BBC News that the moment served as "an important learning" as the company explored "the effective use of AI".

The advert was created for McDonald's Netherlands by Dutch company TBWANeboko and US production company The Sweetshop.

AC/DC’s Melbourne Show Registered Seismic Activity On Nearby Earthquake Detectors

AC/DC’s opening night of their Power Up Tour at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday (November 12) was so electrifying that earthquake equipment two miles away detected ground vibrations equivalent to low-frequency seismic waves. “The sound waves that people were experiencing nearby and feeling something through their bodies, that’s the equivalent to what our seismographs feel,” said Adam Pascale, chief scientist at the Seismology Research Centre, who clarified, “We’re picking up the ground motion, we’re not picking up the sound from the air.” According to the Centre, the ground movement was caused by both powerful speakers on the floor of the venue and the energetic crowd jumping up and down. While AC/DC made their presence felt in their return home to Australia for the first time in a decade, it wasn’t as intense as Taylor Swift’s recent Eras Tour shows at the same venue, which generated the largest signals ever received by the Centre for a concert. AC/DC’s Power Up Tour continues with upcoming dates in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane. (Billboard)
