    Sex crimes detectives told of drug use in Sydney Swans hotel room

    Detectives have been told some Sydney Swans players paid female adult entertainers to consume drugs off their bodies.

    It is not clear how many or which players allegedly participated.

    The police investigation into an alleged sexual assault at a Melbourne hotel is continuing.

    Detectives investigating a sexual assault scandal engulfing the Sydney Swans have been told players paid female adult entertainers to consume drugs off their bodies.

    Several adult entertainers are understood to have joined players at Melbourne's Pullman Hotel after being hired in the hours after the Swans' win against Essendon on Sunday night.

    Bookstores pull Heeney’s children’s book from sale

    Isaac Heeney’s children’s books have been dumped by major retailers and bookstores and a third instalment put on hold following an allegation of sexual assault against the Sydney Swans player.

    The first two books in Heeney’s new Little Isaac Footy Fever series had been on shelves for barely two weeks before retailers began pulling them from sale as details emerged about the actions of five Swans players on Sunday night.

    Aimed at children aged seven to 10 and billed as stories about finding “fun and friendship in sport”, they have now been pulled from sale by Big W and independent booksellers including Sydney-based Gleebooks, while major Heeney sponsors including Nike and Colgate have paused their endorsement deals.

A subtle change from mild to moderate OSA would completely ruin her chances at receiving an affordable GLP-1 through the bridge program.

    HEALTH FIRST: New Medicare program offers low-cost GLP-1 weight loss drugs

    WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A new Medicare program is making select GLP-1 weight loss drugs more affordable for eligible patients, with costs as low as $50 a month.

    Dr. Kara Bird with Novant Health was in the studio to discuss the Medicare GLP Bridge Program and who qualifies.

    According to Dr. Bird, the program is available to Medicare Part D recipients who meet specific medical criteria, including:

    “Call your doctor. Ask if you qualify,” Dr. Bird said. “If you know you have Medicare Part D, see if you have those other qualifying factors.”

    DEA, GRPD drug bust on Thursday sparked social media posts

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Federal agents seized one kilogram of fentanyl and made an arrest Thursday during a multi-jurisdictional drug operation on Grand Rapids' west side.

    The operation attracted the attention of several neighbors, who posted about it on social media. I tracked down details about what happened.

    The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) executed a search warrant near Stocking Avenue Northwest and Alpine Avenue Northwest as part of an investigation that has been ongoing for at least two months, according to DEA officials.

    Grand Rapids police confirmed they assisted in the multi-jurisdictional investigation. The operation was staged at a local church before the arrest was made.

    Thursday’s DEA, GRPD Drug Bust Ignites Social Media Buzz

    In a notable drug operation on the west side of Grand Rapids, federal agents seized a significant amount of fentanyl. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) executed a search warrant on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of a suspect involved in illicit drug activities.

    The operation, which has been underway for at least two months, took place near Stocking Avenue Northwest and Alpine Avenue Northwest. Local law enforcement agencies, including the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), played a crucial role in supporting the DEA during this multi-jurisdictional initiative.

    The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) made record seizures in four Mountain States last year, most of which were funneled through the southern border by two cartels. 

    In 2025, the DEA seized 8,729,000 fentanyl pills and nearly 3,100 pounds of methamphetamine across the four-state Mountain region that includes Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming, the agency said in a news release.

    The PBAC recommended it be listed for adults with established cardiovascular disease with obesity, while also identifying which groups could have more affordable access to GLP-1s.

    Semaglutide (sold as Wegovy) is now a significant step closer to being added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) for adults with established cardiovascular disease with obesity.
     
    It comes after the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) recommended the listing at its November meeting, releasing its decision late on Friday.
     
    ‘Patients must have already experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack, stroke, or have symptomatic peripheral arterial disease,’ PBAC said.
     
    ‘To best reach patients at high risk and considering the high cost of treatment, the PBAC determined it would be appropriate to limit PBS access to people with a BMI of 35 kg/m² or higher, or 32.5 kg/m² or higher for people of Asian, Aboriginal, or Torres Strait Islander ethnicity.’
     
    The cost barrier to some Australians accessing weight-loss drugs more broadly could also soon be lifted following new PBAC advice to the health minister.
     
    At the request of Federal Health and Ageing Minister Mark Butler, the PBAC undertook a comprehensive review of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist medicines for obesity, focussing on equitable access.
     
    The PBAC has now released its recommendation on which groups should be prioritised to ensure ‘equitable subsidised access to GLP-1 for the treatment of obesity’.
     
    ‘Based on current evidence’, the PBAC considered this should include:
