    Eva Longoria Shares Why She Waited to Become a Mom at Age 43

    For Eva Longoria, who shares son Santiago with husband José Bastón, becoming a first-time mom to at the age of 43 was the perfect timing: “It was all about me for so long.” 

    Eva Longoria’s life unfolded just as it was meant to. 

    The Desperate Housewives alum—who shares 7-year-old son Santiago with husband José Bastón—recently explained why becoming a mom at age 43 was the right move for her. 

    “You have so much more wisdom and patience when you become a mother in your forties,” she told The Times in an interview published Nov. 24. “It was all about me for so long. Forty years of me was enough time, so I was really blessed to have my child later in life because I had travelled, I’d done everything I needed to do for my career.”

    LOS ANGELES  –  Eva Longoria has recently made honest confession about becoming a mother at the age of 43. The Desperate Housewives actress, who welcomed her son Santiago in 2018 with husband Jose Baston, reveals that motherhood has taught her “more wisdom and patience” as a parent in her 40s. Eva, who appears in the festive movie Christmas Karma, believes that becoming a mother at 43 was “perfect timing” in a new interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine. “My family is my priority, so if I’m saying yes to something and it’s taking time away from them, it’s got to be something I’m really going to enjoy and people I really want to work with,” explains the 50-year-old. Devious Maids star shares, “I have so much more wisdom and patience when you become a mother in your forties. It was all about me for so long.” Eva points out that 40 years of her “was enough time, so I was really blessed to have my child later in life because I had travelled”.

    Eva Longoria reveals real reason for getting behind the camera

    Eva Longoria has recently revealed her real reason for getting behind the camera.

    The Desperate Housewives actress discussed lack of diversity in Hollywood, notably female Latin-American directors.

    Eva, who made her directorial debut in 2023 with Flamin’ Hot, shared that she became a director and producer to “create opportunities for women and for people from my community”

    “There is definitely a lot of work to be done. I’m trying to do my part,” said the 50-year-old in a new interview with The Sunday Times.

    Reflecting on Latin-American representation in Hollywood, Eva noted, “We’re severely underrepresented in TV and movie and it’s getting worse.”

    Eva Longoria is disappointed by Hollywood’s lack of diversity, particularly in opportunities available for female Latin-American directors.

    The Mexican-American multihyphenate, 50, who rose to fame on the hit drama Desperate Housewives, has increased her presence behind the camera in recent years as a producer and director. She made her directorial debut in 2023 with Flamin’ Hot, a biopic about disputed Hot Cheetos inventor Richard Montanez.

    In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Longoria explained that her biggest motivation for getting behind the camera was to “create opportunities for women and for people from my community.”

    “There is definitely a lot of work to be done. I’m trying to do my part,” she added.
