The couple were found dead on Sunday in their Los Angeles home. The county's medical examiner on Wednesday said they died in a homicide by multiple sharp force injuries.

We examined MPs' family travel spending — here's what we learned

Don Farrell was the largest user of family reunion travel in 2024-25. (ABC News: Matt Roberts)

Family reunion travel for federal MPs and senators cost taxpayers more than $1.1 million last financial year, highlighting the widespread use of the entitlement by politicians working long hours away from home.

Scrutiny of the entitlement has increased following criticism of Communication and Sport Minister Anika Wells for using the travel rules to fly her family to several sporting events.

An expert who formerly reviewed parliamentary entitlements says there could be appetite to "slightly tighten" the rules, such as by scrapping business-class flights for family.

Why Anika Wells is losing the confidence of sports bosses

Even if she is cleared by the expenses watchdog, her lack of judgment will dog her whenever she is photographed in the stands.

It’s lucky Anika Wells has the high-profile communications ministry because she may have lost the support of some of Australia’s most senior sports officials.

It has been telling that in a ring-around of many of the heads of major sports organisations not a single one had anything to say in support of Wells or her achievements in the 3½ years that she’s held the sports portfolio.

It was a red-hot political exclusive that triggered a week of searing coverage about Communication and Sport Minister Anika Wells’ expenses.

So why did News Corp, the news organisation that had the scoop, pull it down a few hours later?

News Corp’s free mass-market news site, news.com.au, was the first to publish details of Wells’ $100,000 trip to New York under the headline “Eye-watering cost to spruik social media ban” last Tuesday evening, before mysteriously sending the link dead shortly after.

The Family Man 3 review: Manoj Bajpayee's spy saga gets personal and more dangerous

'The Family Man' returns with Season 3, and Raj & DK once again prove that few Indian creators blend geopolitics, family drama and dark humour as skillfully as they do. This time, the canvas widens, both geographically and emotionally. The season opens in Nagaland, diving into the socio-political complexities of the Northeast, and it's refreshing to see makers treat the region with far more depth than we get to see in mainstream Hindi shows.

Without giving away spoilers, this season tackles a new national-security threat linked to insurgency, power plays and covert operations that go way beyond India’s borders. The show weaves in real-world issues like strategic pressure, economic vulnerabilities and the impact of long-term conflict without ever feeling preachy or weighed down.

They’re making a sequel to ‘The Family Stone’

Christmas is coming early for those who love spending the holidays with the Stone family.

Thomas Bezucha, the writer-director behind the 2005 perennial yuletide favorite “The Family Stone,” is working on a sequel to the movie, he tells CNN.

Bezucha shared the news during an interview about working with the late Diane Keaton, who played matriarch Sybil Stone in the original movie.

The filmmaker said that he had been thinking about and working on the script for a followup to “The Family Stone” – which follows Sybil’s family at Christmas as they grapple with the news that she is terminally ill – when he learned of Keaton’s untimely death last month at the age of 79.

‘Family Stone’ Director Is Writing a Sequel After Diane Keaton’s Death: I Want to ‘Honor Her Even More’

Thomas Bezucha, who wrote and directed the 2005 dramedy “The Family Stone,” is working on a sequel to the contemporary holiday classic. He told CNN that he had already been thinking about revisiting the fictional kin before the death of Diane Keaton, who died in October at the age of 79. Keaton’s character, the Stone family’s matriarch Sybil, dies after a terminal illness at the end of the original film.

“I’ve been haunted by the loss of Sybil for months now while I worked on it, and so this was a blow on a tender bruise already,” Bezucha said during a CNN interview. “Mentally, I’ve been spending time in that house where I’ve been missing her for a while already.”

A Sequel to The Family Stone Without Diane Keaton? I’m Already Crying…But I’m Also Seated

I don’t have many Christmas or Hanukkah traditions (beyond getting manically into holiday decor, melting a candy cane into my coffee while I wrap presents, and listening to Kacey Musgraves’s A Very Kacey Christmas album, that is), but one favorite activity involves going over to my best friend’s house for our annual Yuletide sleepover, changing into my plaid flannel Lanz nightgown, and firing up The Family Stone. Even though we rewatch the Thomas Bezucha-directed film quite literally every year, it somehow never gets old—so you can imagine my delight when I learned that we could soon be getting a sequel.
