    The once US-only shopping phenomena of Black Friday and Cyber Monday are sweeping airlines globally and discounted flights are spanning many popular routes from Australia.

    Carriers, including Australia’s major airlines, have been breaking tradition by launching sales or offering loyalty members early access before Black Friday, which falls on the Friday after the US Thanksgiving Day holiday, this year on November 28.

    Local carriers Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar are slashing the price of millions of fares.

    Jetstar has brought back its Return for Free Black Friday sale, offering $0 return fares on more than 90,000 seats for 72 hours. Among some of the best deals are $42 domestic return fares (Sydney to Ballina, Byron Bay) and $149 international return fares (Perth to Singapore). Travellers can access the sale a day early, at midday on Thursday, by signing up for Jetstar’s loyalty scheme Club Jetstar.

    A food delivery giant says it wants to help Australians with cost-of-living, announcing a massive end-of-year giveaway of 60,000 free meals for lucky customers across the country this weekend.

    DoorDash has unveiled a four-day “mega giveaway” starting on Wednesday, offering up free burgers, burritos, pizzas and meal bundles.

    “As the calendar fills, to-do lists grow, and the end-of-year rush kicks in, this is the moment Aussies need a break,” Door Dash said.

    “It’s DoorDash’s way of bringing extra joy to the silly season and delivering the dishes and go-to favourites that fuel everyone ahead of the busiest weeks of the year.”

    DoorDash has announced a major four-day giveaway campaign commencing Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the precise date its competitor Menulog ceases operations in Australia. As Menulog winds down its local business after two decades, DoorDash appears to be positioning itself to capture displaced customers with its ‘Four Days. Four Icons. For Free.’ promotion.

    Menulog confirmed it will stop accepting orders at 11:59 pm on 26 November, following a strategic decision by parent company Just Eat Takeaway.com to withdraw from the market due to challenging economic conditions.
