‘From’ Renewed For Fifth and Final Season (Exclusive)

The Hollywood Reporter speaks with the supernatural thriller's three creative masterminds about the decision to end the story: "There's always a goodbye."

MGM+ has renewed From, the supernatural thriller series starring Oz and Lost alum Harold Perrineau, for a fifth and final season, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively confirm.

Filmed on location in Halifax, Canada in what the production refers to as “From Town” (an actual town built from the ground up specifically for the show), From centers on a nightmare town with no discernible way in or out. A rural town celebrated for space exploration, an eccentric Elvis festival and fresh food production fears it will soon be known as nothing but a rubbish dump.

Parkes, in central western NSW, has been earmarked for a garbage incinerator that would process 732,000 tonnes of Sydney's waste annually and convert it into heat, steam and electricity.

The developer's planning documents say the technology is state-of-the-art that will minimise carbon emissions and prioritise human and environmental health.

That's the question at the centre of an inquiry into the proposed development of rubbish incinerators in rural NSW, after the state government banned the same facilities in Sydney.

With the capital city's landfill capacity expected to run out by 2030, energy-from-waste plants that burn rubbish to generate heat, steam and electricity have been touted as a sustainable solution.

A facility earmarked for Parkes, in central western NSW, would process 732,000 tonnes of Sydney's rubbish per year, producing enough energy to power 100,000 homes.

    Parliamentary Inquiry comes to Parkes

Public hearings for the Parliamentary Inquiry on Proposed Energy from Waste Facilities began in December, Nichole Overall MLC leading discussions as chair. A public forum and hearing will be held in Parkes early next week.

The Select Committee for the Parliamentary Inquiry on Proposed Energy from Waste Facilities hits the road in four days to bring a public forum to Parkes.

On Monday, 13 April they will hear directly from the community regarding proposals to build energy from waste facilities in NSW.

Energy from waste converts non-hazardous residual waste, which can’t be recycled, into energy sources such as heat, steam and electricity and there is a proposal to develop a plant for the Parkes Special Activation Precinct, west of the town.

Zverev vs. Garin Odds & Predictions (Apr. 8, 2026)

Third seed Alexander Zverev holds strong trader consensus favoritism over qualifier Cristian Garin in their Monte Carlo Masters second-round clash on clay, driven by his world No. 3 ranking, consistent Masters 1000 deep runs, and recent Roland Garros final appearance highlighting elite clay form. Garin, ranked No. 109, enters with fresh momentum from a dominant 6-2, 6-4 upset of Matteo Arnaldi in the first round, showcasing his heavy topspin grinding suited to the slow Monte Carlo courts. Their head-to-head stands at 2-1 for Garin on clay—including a straight-sets quarterfinal win over Zverev in Munich last year—adding upset potential, though Zverev's baseline power and serve typically prevail in high-stakes ATP 1000 encounters absent injury concerns.

What just happened to Alexander Zverev in Monte-Carlo shocked fans

Alexander Zverev turned himself into the kind of player who could win high-end (but not Grand Slams) tournaments a long time ago. No matter the surface, he could be dangerous. Still, his best surface statistically has been clay, which is why his second-round match at the Monte-Carlo Masters was so shocking.

Facing Cristian Garin, a former No. 17 on the ATP tour but currently ranked outside the top 100, the German dropped the first set 6-4, which clearly wasn't the end of the match. Sets are lost all the time, of course, and when Zverev, the three-seed in Monte-Carlo, came back to win set two, all seemed right again.

Oil and gas crisis from Iran war worse than 1973, 1979 and 2022 together, says IEA

Oil prices swing and stock markets tense on approach to Trump’s deadline for Iran to reopen strait of Hormuz

The oil and ‌gas crisis triggered by the blockade of the strait of Hormuz is “more serious than the ones in 1973, 1979 and 2022 together”, the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA) has said.

Speaking as Donald Trump’s deadline for Iran to reopen the waterway approached, Fatih Birol told Le Figaro newspaper that the impact of the Middle East conflict on the oil market was larger than the combined force of the twin shocks of the 1970s and the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

War forces a harsh reckoning on energy

The Iran conflict has cemented the shift from concerns about sustainability to security of supply.

Despite the urging of the global renewables industry and the European Union, most of the world has consistently refused to pay a “green premium” for energy.

That pricing reality was clear well before the Iran war. But the conflict’s massive disruption to oil and gas markets has abruptly switched the global focus to the prospect of a “security premium” for what were commonly derided as fossil fuels in steady decline.

Five Observations from Bayern Munich’s jaw-dropping 3-2 comeback against SC Freiburg

The Easter Bunny arrived, but instead of sweet treats, it brought a mind-boggling Bayern Munich comeback after being two goals down — even better.

Fans expecting a pleasant return from the international break would have been left bitterly disappointed after an underwhelming Bayern performance but it was expected for a few compounding reasons

Firstly, after international breaks, the Bayern machine often needs a bit of oil to get moving in its original, fluid state. Secondly, ahead of a fixture as momentous as Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarterfinal, Vincent Kompany was always going to feature a heavily rotated squad against Freiburg — turning, what would originally be, a well-oiled machine into a rusty one at best. Thirdly, Vincent Kompany emphasized that Bayern were fully-focused on Freiburg, but when Madrid lies in wait just a few days later, can you ever truly be fully-focused on what is right in front of you?

Lennart Karl completes remarkable Bayern Munich comeback in Freiburg

Lennart Karl scored in the ninth minute of stoppage time as Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in Freiburg.

Freiburg 2-3 Bayern MunichGoals: 1-0 Manzambi 46’ (assist: Eggestein), 2-0 Höler 71’ (assist: Beste), 2-1 Bischof 81’ (assist: Karl), 2-2 Bischof 90’+2 (assist: Olise), 2-3 Karl 90’+9 (assist: Davies)

Bayern travelled to Freiburg without the services of star striker Harry Kane, who was ruled out with an ankle injury sustained on England duty. The Black Forest club, meanwhile, were hoping to end a dismal run against the record champions, having won just once in their previous 45 Bundesliga meetings.

The absence of Kane didn't prevent Bayern from controlling possession in the early stages, with Tom Bischof testing Noah Atubolu from distance. Freiburg grew into the game, though, and nearly took the lead when Philipp Treu fired just wide after good work from Niklas Beste.

From Sleeping in Shelters to a ₹14.20 Crore IPL Deal: Kartik Sharma’s Unbelievable Rise

Kartik Sharma, a 19‑year‑old wicket‑keeper batter from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, was acquired by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a record ₹14.20 crore at the IPL 2026 mini auction, making him one of the most expensive uncapped players in Indian Premier League history. His rise from years of non‑selection during which his parents sold land and jewellery and endured deep financial hardship has become a compelling story of perseverance and family sacrifice.

Sharma’s emotional auction reaction and the warm reception he received in his hometown have been widely covered, even as his performance in the IPL’s opening match drew both attention and critique. Amid celebrations and debate, his story highlights the tensions between talent, opportunity, and pressure in professional sport.

John Ribot will always remember the day the Broncos announced they had shot Bambi.

After just two years in the competition, Wayne Bennett had sacked Wally Lewis as captain following the 1989 season.

“I had to be the bearer of bad news then. It was the first public hanging in Brisbane for a hundred or so years,” quipped Ribot, the club’s inaugural chief executive, who was in charge when the club won its first two titles in 1992 and 1993.

“That was probably the most controversial thing we did – we had to tell Wally we had to move him on.”

Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf has refused to rule out luring Ben Te’o back to Redcliffe following the former State of Origin enforcer’s resignation from his position as defence coach at the Brisbane Broncos.

Te’o sent shockwaves through the NRL after resigning, with reports emerging of a falling out with the club and head coach Michael Maguire.

It was reported Te’o clashed with Maguire over team tactics before their triumph over the Melbourne Storm, which came after his hopes of joining the Maroons’ coaching staff was knocked back by Broncos hierarchy.

Brisbane coach Michael Maguire has refuted he has a "my way or the highway" approach after being peppered about the resignation of defensive coach Ben Te'o.

Te'o, who also won the 2014 premiership as a player at South Sydney under Maguire, resigned on Tuesday after deciding his position at the club had become untenable.
