The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Jaden Ivey due to conduct detrimental to the team, they announced on Monday.

The news comes after Ivey posted a series of videos ranting about religion and other topics on social media in recent weeks, with one on Monday morning calling out the NBA for celebrating Pride Month, saying it's celebrating "unrighteousness."

The Bulls acquired Ivey in a trade with the Detroit Pistons last month. He appeared in four games for the Bulls before being shut down for the rest of the season due to a left knee injury.

Former Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey was released by the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Ivey, who was out for the season because of a knee injury, had recently posted videos on social media in which he criticized the LGBTQ community and NBA teams holding Pride Nights.

The Bulls put out a statement saying Ivey was released for "conduct detrimental to the team."

Ivey went on Instagram live and discussed his Christian faith as it relates to topics like gay rights and abortion.

“They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA,” Ivey said in the video. “They say come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness. They proclaim it.”

Bulls waive Jaden Ivey after his anti-Pride remarks

SAN ANTONIO — The Bulls wanted to see more from Jaden Ivey than just the four games he gave them before his knee issues became a concern and he was shut down.

As of Monday, however, there is nothing the organization wants to see from him any longer.

The Bulls waived Ivey on Monday “due to conduct detrimental to the team” because of Ivey’s latest social media comments saying Pride Month celebrated “unrighteousness.”

Acquired at the trade deadline from Detroit in the Kevin Huerter deal, there were some red flags around Ivey last month when he held an impromptu postgame sermon about the “Old Jaden Ivey” being dead, especially now that “Christ was in his life.”
