8 eMudhra certificates are compromised. Here's what you need to know

On October 19, 2026, at approximately 17:00 UTC, Cloudflare became aware that private keys associated with eight eMudhra intermediate certificates were compromised. These certificates were widely trusted by browsers, operating systems, and also within Cloudflare. Because the keys themselves are weak, an attacker can create a forged certificate for any domain and use it to impersonate servers to intercept or modify traffic. This is a serious security incident with implications across the Internet. For reference, here is a link to more information about how SSL certificates work and why they are so critical to the operation of the Internet.

We immediately prioritized patching critical services across Cloudflare to protect our customers ahead of the public disclosure of the vulnerability. Our security review has not identified active exploitation of this issue on Cloudflare services.

Cloudflare warns fixing botched eMudhra certs goes beyond browsers

Cloudflare has warned that customers may need to act on their own servers after weak keys in eight eMudhra intermediate certificates left them open to forgery.

The company said that because the keys were weak, an attacker could create a forged certificate for any domain and use it to impersonate servers, intercepting or modifying traffic.

Unusually, nothing needed stealing to create the easy to exploit flaw in the digital credentials.

The private keys, generated in an April 2025 key ceremony, were integers below 256 rather than large random numbers, which let anyone recalculate them almost instantly.

eMudhra told Mozilla's bug tracker that a code flaw during an approved test created a second, weaker set of keys, which were then used by mistake.

Here's how Labor, the Coalition and One Nation's migration cuts compare

Migration policy has become one of the most contested issues between Labor, the Coalition and One Nation. (AAP: Bianca de Marchi)

The Coalition's long-awaited migration plan has been revealed, completing the set of competing policies being offered by the government, the opposition and One Nation, who have risen in the polls in particular due to the party's promise to drive immigration to its lowest levels in Australia's history.

Migration rates to Australia since 2019 have been much higher than many comparable countries, with more than double the growth in population from migration compared to the United Kingdom, and three times Germany.

Sweeping cuts to migration proposed by the coalition have been blasted by the business sector, while farming leaders back the approach that would bring workers back to the regions.

Under a future coalition government, net overseas migration would be reduced from its annual level of nearly 300,000 people to about 100,000 in the first year.

The overhaul sparked anger across the business sector on Tuesday, with the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry warning the cuts would hit economic growth.

Taylor’s hardline immigration plan drags Australian politics further to the right – and it’s all upside for One Nation

Coalition leader’s proposal goes further than Peter Dutton’s 2025 election promise and beyond even Pauline Hanson’s bottom line

With Angus Taylor’s hardline immigration policy unveiled on Tuesday, voters have a new measure of Pauline Hanson’s success in dragging politics further to the right.

Taylor’s plan will cut 60,000 more people from net overseas migration (Nom) than the reductions proposed by Peter Dutton just before the last election. Dutton wanted to take Nom down to about 160,000 people a year, while Taylor’s plan goes far further, beyond even Hanson’s bottom line of 130,000 people.

Want a comfortable retirement? Here's the new super figure Australians need

SBS acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country and their connections and continuous care for the skies, lands and waterways throughout Australia.

Australians now need a little bit more in their super to retire comfortably, with the rising cost of living driving up the latest retirement standard.

A couple who own their home and are seeking a comfortable retirement will need $78,998 a year, or $1,513 a week. A single homeowner will need $56,166 a year, or $1,076 a week.

Those figures were released on Tuesday by the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), the peak body for the super industry.

It showed for homeowners aged 65 to 84, the budget for a comfortable retirement rose 0.5 per cent for couples and 0.4 per cent for singles in the June quarter.

    Spalletti: Everybody here wants success

Serie A is finally back for our Men's First Team, who travel to take on Frosinone on Matchday 1 of the 2026/27 campaign. Kick-off is fixed for 18:30 CEST on Sunday, 23 August.

Before setting off for Lazio, coach Luciano Spalletti went through his usual Matchday-1 press conference at the Allianz Stadium.

Below is what the boss had to say ahead of Sunday's game.

“The bell has sounded and the Serie A season has already begun. The feeling is good because we’ve worked well, also thanks to the excellent organisation of the entire structure here at Juventus. I want to thank everyone for the great work they’ve done over these last few weeks. Now we have to go out onto the pitch, give our all and have the desire to do well.

Frosinone vs Juventus – Prediction, where to watch, kick-off time and line-ups 23-08-2026

Frosinone and Juventus kick off their Italy Serie A campaign in this opening-round fixture. The match takes place this Sunday 23 August at 15:30 (UK time), at the Stadio Benito Stirpe in Frosinone.

The visitors will be looking to start their season on the right foot and continue their historical dominance over the home side, having never lost to them. Our Frosinone vs. Juventus prediction points towards an opening day win for the Turin giants.

Find out what our experts are predicting for this exciting encounter.

The head-to-head record between Frosinone and Juventus shows clear dominance by the latter. In seven meetings, Juventus won six times, with Frosinone yet to claim a victory. One fixture ended in a draw, underscoring the challenge ahead for the home team.

Frosinone vs Juventus Predictions, Picks & Odds – 23/08/2026

Frosinone return to Serie A after a strong Serie B campaign that saw them finish second and clinch promotion. The Ciociari will be eager to prove they belong at this level, and the Stadio Benito Stirpe should provide a hostile atmosphere on opening day. New signings Aleksa Terzic and Romano Schmid add quality to the squad, though how quickly a newly promoted side can gel remains the big question. Only one competitive result so far limits any firm assessment of their readiness.

Juventus arrive in fine form, picking up four wins and a draw across their last five outings. Luciano Spalletti, tasked with improving on a sixth-place finish last season, has overseen the arrivals of Guglielmo Vicario and Jhon Lucumi as part of a squad rebuild. The coach did note after a recent pre-season friendly that fitness levels are still a work in progress. Still, Juve's dominant head-to-head record against Frosinone, with six wins and one draw in seven Serie A meetings, makes them clear favourites at 1.50.

Here's what is changing about how food delivery workers are paid

Alexi Edwards hopes the new minimum standards will provide some level of stability for her and other food delivery workers. (ABC News: Lucas Hill)

New interim minimum standards for food and grocery delivery workers come into effect today, improving conditions on pay and insurance.

It will see workers for platforms such as Uber Eats and DoorDash receive at least $31.30 an hour for engaged time, above the national minimum wage of $26.44.

It comes after the Albanese government introduced gig economy reforms two years ago that gave new powers to the Fair Work Commission.

Gig worker Alexi Edwards spends roughly 40 hours on the road delivering orders every week. At times, she says her pay was as low as $15 an hour.

Delivery drivers will get minimum wage in Australia’s ‘world-first’ deal. Is it fair – and will Uber Eats cost more?

A closer look at the new rules for gig workers – agreed to by Uber Eats and Doordash – shows ‘minimum wage’ looks a little different than usual

Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast

From Monday, an Uber or Doordash delivery driver in Australia will earn at least $31.30 an hour – a milestone for gig economy workers who have struggled with low pay and lack of protections for over a decade.

The union hailed its deal with DoorDash and Uber Eats – the two organisations that control most of Australia’s food delivery market – as a “world first”.

Considering Australia’s industrial umpire, the Fair Work Commission, pretty much stuck to the proposed conditions it was handed, are gig economy workers really going to get a better deal? And is the price of your takeaway food about to go up?

'Nothing untoward here': Lyon plays down King surgery, injury not tendon related

The St Kilda coach expects his star forward to be back in full training before season's end

ST KILDA coach Ross Lyon has played down the significance of Max King undergoing hamstring surgery, saying it wasn't a tendon-related problem.

King's season from hell officially ended on July 26 when he strained his hamstring in what was his first AFL match since 2024.

The 26-year-old has undergone surgery to fix the issue, but Lyon said it wasn't anything too serious and is backing the injury-prone spearhead to be up and running in time for a strong off-season.

"There's certain parts of the hamstring that need a slight intervention and take out risk going forward of a recurrence, so that's what's occurred.
