Ticketmaster Transfer Problems Hit Fans Across U.S. as Support Team Works Through Backlog

Home » Ticketmaster Transfer Problems Hit Fans Across U.S. as Support Team Works Through Backlog

Ticketmaster ticket-transfer problems left fans scrambling to access mobile tickets for concerts and other events across the U.S. Friday night, with the company’s official support account eventually acknowledging the issue and continuing to work through pending transfers into Saturday.

Reports from customers appeared across multiple cities and unrelated events Friday, describing transfers that could not be accepted, tickets stuck between accounts and Ticketmaster screens displaying a blunt error message: “Transfer Unavailable.”

Social-media posts and Reddit threads reviewed by TicketNews referenced apparent transfer problems involving fans attending Harry Styles at Madison Square Garden in New York, Bruno Mars at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Teddy Swims at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Weezer at Capital One Arena in Washington, and BUNT. at Emo’s in Austin.

SeatGeek launches predictive-intelligence tool for live bookers

Ticketing-tech firm SeatGeek has launched a new product that’s for promoters and venues rather than music fans. TourIQ is a predictive-intelligence tool.

According to the company, it “tells a promoter or venue what a concert or third party event is worth at any building, for any artist, on any date, before a single ticket is sold, then generates a price for every seat in the house”.

The pitch is that it “replaces the guesswork with a number, before anything goes on sale”. The tool will sit within SeatGeekIQ, the company’s suite of tools for live-show bookers.

According to SeatGeek, TourIQ is already being used “on stadium tours from three of the largest promoters in the country”.

Live Music Industry News: TM Outage, SeatGeek TourIQ & More

Widespread transfer issues at Ticketmaster, SeatGeek adds predictive TourIQ, changes at Pollstar Live! and ILMC, news from MassConcerts and more.

Fans reported that they were unable to transfer Ticketmaster tickets to multiple events last Friday and Saturday. One customer posted a screenshot showing Ticketmaster displaying “Transfer Unavailable” and telling the recipient, “Unfortunately, Transfer is not available at the moment. Please try again later.”

The dozens of effected events ranged from Harry Styles in NYC to Bruno Mars at California's SoFi Stadium. The ticketer acknowledged the transfer backlog which appeared to clear by late Saturday.

Ticket resellers were quick to pounce with their cleverly named Coalition for Ticket Fairness calling the incident the "clear consequence of allowing one company’s unprecedented control over live event ticketing."

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are forecast to drench south-eastern Australia from Thursday, with the heaviest falls expected across Victoria.

A trough moving east across South Australia was expected to combine with a low pressure system moving through the Great Australian Bight on Thursday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The two systems would combine into a slow-moving low over Victoria, eastern South Australia and New South Wales, bringing widespread storms and dumping large amounts of rain.

The Love Hypothesis review – hit BookTok romcom lacks spark on screen

Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart does some heavy lifting in adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s hit book, but it’s not quite enough

Fans of the dearly departed Riverdale – or, moreover, admirers of all the batshit things the CW comic soap could make its bright young actors say with straining sincerity – have long rooted for Lili Reinhart. The Betty Cooper of yore was the best of that talented crop (Charles Melton and Camila Mendes among them) at rising above her subpar surroundings, her impressively expressive eyes able to sell the unsellable with complete conviction. She is the type of helplessly endearing performer suited to roles of naivety who masks surprise steeliness, as in her notable turn in 2019’s Hustlers or, better yet, romcoms, though there remains a dearth of worthy material. (A dual role in 2022’s Look Both Ways, a Netflix homage to Sliding Doors, didn’t cut it.)

The Love Hypothesis and the rise of romance adaptations: how readers became part of the marketing machine

By the time a romance book reaches the screen, readers have often already built a whole world around it: analysing it, recommending it and imagining its characters. The Love Hypothesis, a romantic comedy set in the world of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) academia, is one such example.

The bestselling 2021 novel by neuroscientist-turned-author Ali Hazelwood revolves around biology PhD student Olive Smith and Dr Adam Carlsen, a young professor in the same department. The pair pretend to be in a relationship to convince Olive’s friend and Adam’s boss that their love life is on track. As they are forced to spend more time together, the lines between fake and real get increasingly blurred.

The Book Started as a Steamy Star Wars Fanfic. Now the Movie Adaptation Is Here. Uh-oh.

In Sex Reviews, writers offer a sober critical assessment of the sex scenes in new films and television series. This installment contains spoilers for The Love Hypothesis.

While the covers of Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling novels blend right in with other contemporary millennial romance fare, what’s between the pages is distinctive for the genre. Hazelwood, a former neuroscience professor, favors a combination of STEM milieus (two books set at Stanford, others at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, MIT, and an Arctic research center) and STEM heroes and heroines (every person in a Hazelwood book is an engineer, a scientist, or a game developer) with what can sometimes be extremely detailed and extensive sex scenes. Her Not in Love series and her campus romance Deep End can barely be read in public, so flushed will your face become. The Hazelwood fantasy is something that can only be described as “best-case Bay Area”: nerds with broad chests who, when tested, display an unexpected ability to apply themselves … both in and out of bed.

This movie just committed a ‘cardinal sin’, and it’s going to divide viewers

This may sound like a paradox, but The Love Hypothesis movie is actually better than Ali Hazelwood’s book because it commits what some readers would consider a cardinal sin: it doesn’t stay true to the novel.

I spent the first 20 minutes of the film cringing through a slightly awkward voice-over that matched the book almost word for word and feared the rest of the film would do the same.

Having read the book, I knew I was in for a lot of second-hand embarrassment if that was the case.

No one has committed to a press tour with such devotion as Lili Reinhart has with The Love Hypothesis. From the early wave of TikTok videos with her co-star, Tom Bateman, that perfectly played up their character’s grumpy-sunshine dynamic to the continuum of looks paying homage to some of cinema’s most-loved rom-coms. So prolific has the press tour been that it has felt never-ending, but here we finally are with The Love Hypothesis premiering on Prime Video today. If, unlike us, you haven’t been counting down the days to the film’s release and aren’t familiar with the premise, let me catch you up.The Love Hypothesis is based on the book of the same name by author Ali Hazelwood. Like many of Hazelwood’s works, the story is a STEM romance and centres on PhD candidate Olive, and a professor, Adam, having to engage in our favourite romance trope: fake dating.

Plan to hit Aus petrol cars with an EV tax | What a road user charge could cost your car | EV gro…

Explore the latest developments concerning Plan to hit.

What a road user charge could cost your car

The Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) wants any road user charge priced on weight and distance rather than powertrain, at a rate of three cents per tonne-kilometre for light vehicles under 4.5 tonnes.

So what does that actually mean at your driveway? We applied the proposed rate to the sorts of cars Australians are buying, using the national average of 13,000km a year and each vehicle’s tare mass.

While the federal government has not revealed how a national road user charge (RUC) would function – namely because it hasn’t been locked in yet, others have.

The maths is fairly simple based on AEVA’s policy statement. Multiply your tare vehicle weight in tonnes by kilometres travelled, then by three cents.

EV group wants petrol, diesel vehicle owners to be taxed twice

The Australian Electric Vehicle Association wants a universal road-user charge to be implemented, but still wants fuel to be subject to an excise.

An electric vehicle (EV) lobby group has once again called for a road-user charge to be implemented in Australia, but it doesn’t want the existing fuel excise to be repealed.

The Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) is calling for EVs to be subject to a cost-per-distance charge, and for combustion-powered vehicles to be subject to both this and the existing fuel excise.

The group had previously proposed a mass by distance road-user charge (RUC) that would apply to all vehicles, but replace the fuel excise rather than exist in tandem with it.

Cook Islanders hit the ballot box to choose their leaders – ABC Pacific

It's election day in the Cook Islands, with 7,000 voters expected to participate in polling.

Political commentator Thomas Tarurongo Wynne says the results will be known by 6 pm local time.

A big question is whether Prime Minister Mark Brown and his Cook Islands Party will return for another four years.

Mr Wynne, says the answer to that question is uncertain at the moment, but what is clear is that, like previous years, the next government is likely to be a coalition of parties.

Cook Islands election: PM Mark Brown speaks on the diplomatic crises that defined his year

The prime minister tells the Guardian that last year’s diplomatic rift with ally New Zealand could be on voters’ minds as they head to the polls

As voters in the Cook Islands prepare to head to the polls in a high-stakes general election, they will have much to reflect on. Over recent years, politics in this small island nation has been defined by fierce debates about deep-sea mining, diplomatic rifts with ally New Zealand and a major reshaping of the country’s foreign partnerships.

In an exclusive interview with the Guardian, days before Wednesday’s poll, Cook Islands prime minister Mark Brown defended his four-year term and the decisions he made that have seen this South Pacific nation of 17,000 people pushed into the international limelight, turning it into a battleground for influence between Beijing and western powers.

‘Russian Amazon’ hit by more massive Ukrainian strikes

London: Ukraine has launched new attacks on Russia’s largest online retailer, Wildberries, in a sign of its capacity to send explosive drones into enemy territory amid upheaval in the Ukrainian military after public protests about the war.

The drones reached two of the retailer’s major warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, in southern Russia to the east of Crimea, and led to flames shooting skyward in dramatic explosions that were caught on video and seen on social media.

The attacks came at a fractious time in Ukraine after some members of the public gathered on the streets of Kyiv to express their concern after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sacked the popular defence minister, Mykhailo Fedorov.

Russia's businesses under strain from Ukraine's attacks on Wildberries

Ukrainian drones have hit several retail warehouses belonging to Russia's biggest online retailer, Wildberries, in a matter of days, dealing a blow to a large number of small and medium-sized businesses.

After months of drone attacks on oil depots and refineries, Kyiv says it is now targeting logistics hubs used by Russians to buy military equipment, and disrupting supplies to the Russian army.

But it has also frustrated hundreds of Russian sellers who depend on online marketplaces for their livelihoods, making the war feel closer to home after almost four and a half years.

"I am a mother of a disabled child, I've built the business myself," one woman complained on an expletive-laden social media post that went viral.
