Sir Mick Jagger performs impromptu pub gig in Oxford
Sir Mick Jagger has made a surprise appearance at an Oxford pub performing with local students.
The Rolling Stones frontman was spotted at the Half Moon in St Clements performing during the venue's weekly folk session on Sunday night.
A spokesman at the pub said his team were "delighted" by Sir Mick's "surprise cameo".
The rock star was in the city with his partner, former American ballerina Melanie Hamrick, as guests of Oriel College, where they joined students at Evensong at the chapel, and for a meal at the college's high table.
"After dinner and drinks in the SCR (Senior Common Room) a small group went off to the pub where Mick gave an impromptu performance with Rolling Stones keyboard player Matt Clifford and Oriel Politics academic Robert Cheah," the college said.

The Rolling Stones frontman was at The Half Moon in St Clement's and joined an Irish band in performing.
Sir Mick, who last performed with the Rolling Stones in 2024 in Missouri, sang the folk song Handsome Molly with the band to admiring pubgoers.
One pubgoer told The Sun: "We were sitting right by the band when a small group wandered over towards the musicians.
"I caught a glimpse of one of them from the side and said to my mates, ‘Wait… is that Mick Jagger?’

Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger surprised a pub full of locals by joining an Irish band for an impromptu performance in Oxford.
In a video posted to Jagger’s Instagram, the Sympathy for the Devil singer stands in the midst of a group of musicians, with the caption: “Meanwhile at
an Oxford pub for after dinner drinks…”
The legendary singer then gave a rendition of the folk song Handsome Molly.
“While sailing around the ocean. While sailing around the sea. I dream of Handsome Molly wherever she might be,” sang Jagger, who covered the track on his solo album Wandering Spirit in 1993.
