PHILADELPHIA — — Bruce Brown scored 19 points and got the winning bucket in overtime off a goaltending call on Joel Embiid, and Jalen Pickett had 29 points to lead the short-handed Denver Nuggets to a 125-124 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.

Embiid was whistled for the decisive goaltend when he tried to block Brown's running layup with 5.3 seconds left. Tyrese Maxey missed a winning floater for the Sixers at the horn.

Embiid scored 32 points — the fourth time in his last eight games he has scored 30 — and Maxey had 28

The Nuggets played without three-time MVP Nikola Jokic — out at least until the end of the month with a with a hyperextended left knee — Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun and others a night after a loss at Brooklyn.

Denver Nuggets Find Amazing Way to Deal with Glut of Injuries

Rarely has any NBA team had to endure the kind of flood of key injuries that the Denver Nuggets are in the middle of dealing with right now.

When they tipped off the sixth game of a seven-game eastern road trip against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, the Nuggets were missing their entire starting five, plus their leading scorer off the bench (Tim Hardaway Jr.) and their only backup center (Jonas Valančiūnas.)

But this is sports…and somehow, some way…the skeleton crew the Nuggets rolled out on the floor defeated the 76ers 125-124 in overtime. Really.

Nuggets head coach David Adelman had nine healthy players available against the Sixers, and used all of them, including two-way player Curtis Jones. Zeke Nnaji, the subject of every trade rumor being thrown around, had a career high 21 points, backup point guard Jalen Pickett had 29 – including seven three pointers – and Peyton Watson had 24 and seven rebounds.

INDIANAPOLIS — — Paolo Banchero had 29 points and 10 rebounds and hit the go-ahead basket with 7.5 seconds remaining as the Orlando Magic rallied from a 10-point, third-quarter deficit and beat Indiana 112-110 on Wednesday, sending the Pacers to their 10th consecutive loss.

As the clock was winding down in regulation, Banchero backed down Aaron Nesmith and banked home an 11-foot shot for the final basket in a game that included 12 ties and 11 lead changes. The power forward finished 12 of 21 from the field and 5 for 7 at the line.

Orlando's Desmond Bane scored 18, Anthony Black added 15 and former Pacers center Goga Bitadze 14.

The Magic (19-15), who have been without leading scorer Franz Wagner (22.7 points per game) since Dec. 7 due to a high-ankle sprain, welcomed back point guard Jalen Suggs from a seven-game absence with a hip issue. Suggs had 11 points and three assists.
