"He was amazing. He was so versatile, you could throw him anywhere" – John Longmire
John Longmire has labelled Swans Hall of Famer Lewis Roberts-Thomson as one of the best big-game players he has ever coached, praising his incredible versatility and performances on the AFL's biggest stage.
Longmire, who joined the More than Footy Podcast, presented by Bing Lee, to launch his new autobiography Pain, Perspective and Premierships, was an assistant coach with the Swans during their historic premiership triumph in 2005, before coaching the Swans in their Grand Final victory over Hawthorn in 2012.
Roberts-Thomson, one of four players to win two premierships with the Swans (2005 and '12), produced arguably career-best performances on both occasions and is revered amongst Swans fans, and Longmire, for being the ultimate big-game player.

Sydney Swans Executive Director of Club Performance, and 2012 Premiership-winning coach, John Longmire joins the More than Footy Podcast to reflect on some of the biggest moments of his illustrious playing and coaching career.
Longmire's brand new autobiography, Pain, Perspective & Premierships, goes into incredible detail about his life on his family farm, being drafted at 16 to North Melbourne, his transition from player to coach, and more fascinating never-told-before stories.
In this episode, Longmire touches on a handful of stories detailed in the book – from signing Lance Franklin from Hawthorn in 2014, where all but less than 10 people knew for less than 12 months before the announcement, to the pain of omitting Callum Mills from the 2024 Grand Final.
