    The Los Angeles Rams (11-3) enter their Week 16 "Thursday Night Football" game at the Seattle Seahawks (11-3) as the No. 1 seed in the NFC West and in the conference. Thursday's game could alter that with the Seahawks on their tail.

    The Rams clinched a playoff berth last week but are playing for the No. 1 overall seed and a wild-card round bye. The Seahawks can clinch a playoff berth with a win Thursday or a Detroit Lions loss vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

    The Rams and Seahawks last met in Week 11 of this season, a 21-19 Rams victory at home. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Kyren Williams carried the ball 12 times for 91 yards and a touchdown. The Rams' defense intercepted Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold four times, including two by safety Kam Kinchens and one apiece from cornerbacks Cobie Durant and Darious Williams. The game came down to a 61-yard field goal attempt from Seattle kicker Jason Myers, which he missed as time expired.

    NFL Thursday Night Football preview: Rams at Seahawks is a game of the year candidate

    We might look back and realize that the winner of Super Bowl LX was actually determined during a monumental NFC West clash in Week 16.

    That’s how big the second meeting this season between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks could be. There is a very good chance that the No. 1 playoff seed in the NFC will come from one of these two teams, both of which are 11-3. And the team that wins will have pole position with two games left.

    On top of that, as the season has gone on, most rankings have placed the Seahawks and Rams as the two best teams in the NFL, in some order. It’s arguable that this is the best game of the entire NFL regular season, unless that title went to the first meeting between the teams.

    Rams free agent pushing hard for extension, but he's the last one fans think of

    The 11-3 Los Angeles Rams entering Week 16 is not the same team that began the 2025 NFL season. Likely, few NFL teams that reach this point of their respective schedules can lay claim to being the same teams that began this year's journey. And so it falls on the players who evolve, who become leaders of the offense and defense, to step up in big games.

    Right now, one of the key offensive players who needs to step up for this offense against the 11-3 Seattle Seahawks is a former Seahawk, tight end Colby Parkinson. Ending the second season of his three-year contract, this free agent tight end has certainly shown up for the team this season. In the past six games, he has tied teammate wide receiver Davante Adams for the most touchdown receptions with six. His six touchdowns have also tied the all-time franchise tight end record for touchdown receptions in a single season. And he has done it all against some of the stingiest defenses in the NFL.
