Emotional Hamilton says maiden Ferrari win is ‘something I’ll never forget’

Having just overtaken Mercedes team mate George Russell, Kimi Antonelli was forced to retire in Barcelona.

Kimi Antonelli admits feeling "a bit empty" after a late mechanical issue denied the Mercedes driver from claiming a podium in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

The 19-year-old was on course to finish second in Sunday's 66-lap race behind race winner Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli having overtaken Mercedes team mate George Russell in the closing stages at Turn 1.

But having just moved ahead of Russell, Antonelli's Mercedes came to a halt out on track, bringing the Italian's run of five Grand Prix victories to an end and registering his first retirement of the season.

Albon reflects on Piastri collision that led to Canada DNF

Alex Albon became one of six retirees from the Canadian Grand Prix after his Williams was hit by the McLaren of Oscar Piastri, an incident that Piastri was penalised for.

Alex Albon has given his take on the “unfortunate” collision with Oscar Piastri that forced him to retire from the Canadian Grand Prix, with the Thai racer admitting that it was “not ideal” given that things had just started to feel better for him in the car.

Albon had made a decent start to the race in Montreal and had gained positions from his P18 starting slot when he was hit by Piastri on Lap 13, the McLaren driver suffering a lock-up that caused him to run into the Williams.

Oscar Piastri eliminated Alex Albon from the Canadian Grand Prix, for which he received a 10-second time penalty.

Oscar Piastri has apologised to Alex Albon for "not trying to overtake" the Williams but still ending his race in the Canadian GP.

After pitting at the end of the first lap to get off the intermediate tyres, Piastri clattered into the side of Albon's car at the hairpin after 11 laps, forcing the Thai into retirement.

For this, he received a 10-second time penalty as he came home to finish in 11th place as the first car two laps down on winner Kimi Antonelli.

‘Sloppy and avoidable’: NBA veteran called out as Game 1 comeback falls short

The Cleveland Cavaliers have dropped Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semi-final series, beaten 111–101 by the Detroit Pistons as turnovers proved costly despite a late fightback. James Harden endured a night to forget, with the former MVP finishing with seven turnovers, a worrying trend as he continues to rack up errors through the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t quite complete the comeback in Game 1, falling 111-101 to the Detroit Pistons after a second-half surge came up short. Down by as many as 18 points, Cleveland fought its way back within striking distance in the fourth quarter, but turnovers, shaky execution and a lack of control on the glass proved costly.

Nothing was more telling about Jake Weatherald’s third Test innings than how, in partnership with Travis Head on a steamy and noisy Gabba afternoon in the second Ashes Test, the junior man could easily have passed for the senior partner.

Where Head took the leading role in Perth to gallop home in pursuit of 205 to win, now Weatherald showed a method both fearless and decisive, to ensure that England were unable to replicate the success of Mitchell Starc on day one.
