Remote luxury resort in WA suffers severe damage after Cyclone Fina’s direct hit

Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina has hit the exclusive Berkeley River Lodge in Western Australia's north, causing a "total loss of infrastructure".
Two caretakers sheltering underground at the site are uninjured after the category three system crossed the coast on Monday night.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services will evacuate the pair as soon as it is safe.
A luxury wilderness resort only accessible by sea and private charter flights has been significantly damaged in a direct hit from Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina, which made landfall in an extremely remote part of Western Australia.

A large portion of Australia’s interior is baking this Monday under near-record-breaking temperatures for November, and the searing heat is directly related to Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina.
To 5pm Monday (AEDT), temperatures above 45°C were experienced in three states, with the hottest readings in each of those states being:

An update on Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina, which made landfall in WA overnight, destroying parts of a luxury Kimberley lodge.
The system has weakened to a category one this afternoon after crossing the coast as a category three around 8pm on Monday. It’s expected to become a tropical low tonight.
The path of the cyclone is largely unpopulated except for Berkeley River Lodge, a remote luxury retreat on the coast which copped the brunt of the cyclone, with buildings flattened.
