Bayern Munich the 'right environment' for Lennart Karl to become 'great player' as Germany legend accuses Julian Nagelsmann of being 'afraid' to call him up

Former Bayern Munich star and Germany legend Lothar Matthaus believes 17-year-old Lennart Karl is in the perfect environment for his growth. The World Cup winner is impressed by Karl's performances at the club level and has accused Germany national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann of being afraid to call him up to the camp for the upcoming quadrennial event.

Ever since his delicious outing against Club Brugge, where he scored a goal in his 69-minute appearance, Karl has turned himself into a fan favourite, impressing the Bavarians regularly with his mind-boggling skills and work ethic. Recently, on Saturday, he inspired Bayern to a furious comeback against Freiburg at the Allianz Arena. After going down 2-0 within the first 17 minutes, it was Karl who kick-started the resurgence. In the 22nd minute, he scored his second Bundesliga goal of the season, and then delivered an assist for Michael Olise's equaliser, paving the way for a 6-2 victory. The game was Karl's third start in the domestic league, and he has already recorded four goal contributions, making him a strong candidate to evaluate ahead of the upcoming Word Cup, prior to which he will have turned 18.

The German Lionel Messi! Bayern Munich wonderkid Lennart Karl plays down comparisons to Argentine GOAT after making Bundesliga history

Bayern Munich wonderkid Lennart Karl, who has been called the 'German Lionel Messi', has played down comparisons to the Argentine GOAT after he made Bundesliga history against Freiburg on Saturday. Karl contributed a goal and an assist as Vincent Kompany's side registered a dominating 6-2 win and maintained their unbeaten record in the league this season.

Karl has made rapid strides at Bayern Munich ever since he joined the club's youth academy as a promising 14-year-old in 2022. Last season, he made 26 appearances in all competitions for Bayern's Under-17 and U19 outfits, scoring 32 goals and delivering 10 assists. His exquisite displays earned him a place in Bayern's squad for the Club World Cup over the summer, where he made his debut against Auckland City.

Citi Raises Nvidia Price Target to $720 Ahead of Earnings

Nvidia (NVDA, Financials) just got another confidence boost from Wall Street. Ahead of its upcoming earnings report, Citi Research raised its price target on the AI chip leader to $720 from $650, saying demand for Nvidia's processors remains as strong as ever.

Citi's analysts called Nvidia the undisputed leader in artificial intelligence computing a title it has earned thanks to relentless demand for its H100 chips and growing excitement over its next-generation Blackwell GPUs. Those products are expected to power data centers well into 2026 as companies race to expand their AI infrastructure.

While some investors worry about chip supply constraints and pricing fluctuations, Citi said Nvidia's long-term advantage lies in its deep ties with cloud giants, software ecosystem, and unmatched developer tools a combination that keeps competitors at bay.
