Austin Reaves Hilariously Roasts Former Lakers Teammate Rui Hachimura

Austin Reaves and the Los Angeles Lakers begin their 2026-27 NBA season with clashes against two Pacific Division rivals: the Golden State Warriors and then the Los Angeles Clippers. That Clippers clash will involve a familiar face, as Rui Hachimura faces off against the Lakers for the first time since leaving the team in free agency.

With that reunion coming up, Reaves was asked about Hachimura at practice on Tuesday, and while he sang the praises of his former teammate, he also hilariously roasted him.

“He’s an unbelievable human,” Reaves said, via The Sporting Tribune. “I didn’t know if he spoke English for the first two weeks. I sat by him on the plane. He didn’t speak to me, and then after that I couldn’t get him to shut up. So, great guy, great player, and I miss him.”

Clippers' Kris Dunn: Starting on Opening Night
