    ‘I am lucky to have the best gig in sports broadcasting’

    Andrew Castle has confirmed that Wimbledon this year will be his last at the commentator’s mic, the former British No 1 leaving the “best gig in sports broadcasting” after more than two decades as the BBC makes changes to its coverage.

    The 62-year-old, who will remain in post as the All England Championships get under way on 29 June, told the Times: “It’s been a hell of a journey. I can’t say I have enjoyed every minute because there have been moments of pressure and controversy, but it has been a huge privilege.

    Iconic tennis commentator to leave BBC after Wimbledon

    The former British tennis star has been on the mic for two decades and has covered some memorable moments.

    Among the memorable moments include Andy Murray's Wimbledon singles titles in 2013 and 2016.

    And in an interview with The Times, Castle has revealed that former chief of The Athletic Alex Kay-Jelski has decided to take the BBC's coverage in a different direction.

    He said: “To be honest, when I got the job 23 years ago, a lot of the more experienced commentators felt that they should have been first in line.

    “Their noses were put out of joint. So, in the wider scheme of things, I am lucky that I had the best gig in sports broadcasting for so long, during the greatest age of men’s tennis.

    Is Spotify Down? Platform Says Issues Now ‘All Clear’

    Thousands of users reported problems with the audio streaming service Spotify Tuesday morning, just one month after 22,000 users reported log in errors and other issues in a major disruption in mid May.

    User-reported problems with Spotify started to spike at 9:45 a.m. EDT on Tuesday and, by 10:15 a.m. EDT, had hit 3,900 on Downdetector, a website that tracks reports of user complaints.

    Reports peaked at about 5,000 and, by 11 a.m. EDT, had dropped to 345.

    More than half of users reported problems with Spotify's app, 23% said audio streaming wasn't working and another 16% said they were unable to connect to the platform’s server.

    Is DoorDash down? Reports of issues drop Tuesday morning

    Just in time for lunch, DoorDash appears to be back up and running after thousands of users reported issues with the platform Tuesday morning.

    More than 36,000 DoorDash users reported issues with the platform at 10:20 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 16, according to Downdetector, which provides real-time outage updates. Just before noon ET, DoorDash shared in an X post that the outage was resolved.

    "Heyyyy…how y'all doin…." the post read. "We've resolved the issue and are working hard to correct any impacted Dashers and orders ASAP. We are SO sorry." Users are encouraged to contact DoorDash Customer Service with any questions or concerns related to the short outage.

    DoorDash down as thousands of users report Tuesday morning freeze

    Over 36,000 DoorDash users have reported platform issues on Tuesday morning, according to a Downdetector post.

    Downdetector offers real-time monitoring and status tracking for thousands of online services.

    Outage reports began at 9:30 a.m. ET with 73% of the issues happening on the mobile app.

    About 23% of users couldn’t even order as they were experiencing login failures.

    The post revealed that a large swath of the issues were in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles.

    DoorDash took to X, assuring customers that they were trying to get them their goodies.

    “We’re aware of an issue affecting our platform and are working urgently to resolve it. We thank our users for their patience and understanding, and apologize for any inconvenience,” the post read.

    Lindy spent the next three years in prison before she was released after a crucial piece of evidence was found.

    “It took hours, which meant they weren’t agreeing with the judge or with one another. The longer it went on, the more I was conscious that there was a problem. The only place I could get away by myself was the screws’ toilet, so I went in there, and I was praying about it, because obviously I wanted to go home to my kids. I felt we’d made good case for that, but obviously something was wrong, and as I was praying, it came to me, I’m not saying the right thing by saying let me go home,” she recalls.

    UFC Freedom 250: White House event challenged by lawsuit

    The UFC White House event scheduled for 14 June has been challenged by a federal lawsuit which alleges it is unlawful.

    UFC Freedom 250 is set to take place on the White House's South Lawn on US President Donald Trump's 80th birthday, as part of celebrations to mark 250 years of United States independence.

    However, the Public Integrity Project has filed a lawsuit – seeking an emergency temporary retraining order – against the event billed as the first professional sporting event to be held on the White House grounds.

    "We think that this is a profound misuse of our sacred national monuments for private gain. And we think that needs to be stopped because it breaks the law," said Brendan Ballou, lead attorney for the Public Integrity Project.

    Lawsuit aims to stop UFC fight at the White House

    Two Virginia residents have filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the UFC fight President Donald Trump is holding at the White House as part of celebrations for the nation’s 250th birthday.

    The lawsuit, filed Saturday by the Public Integrity Project on behalf of a Vietnam War veteran and a civic activist, argues the structure erected on the White House grounds is not authorized without congressional approval or environmental review.

    It also argues the use of the White House grounds “to stage a private, for-profit sports event, with all the promotional and branding opportunities that accompany such access” will financially benefit UFC President Dana White and Trump himself, citing a report in the spring that Trump bought $50,000 in stock in UFC’s parent company.

    Accused childcare rapist Joshua Dale Brown is set to admit responsibility for his crimes, as the lawyers for both sides flag they will seek the assistance of a County Court judge to determine which of his 156 charges will proceed.

    Brown, 27, faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court remotely from custody at Barwon Prison, where he is being held in the Banksia Unit, a specialised management and protection unit within the jail. He is facing more than a hundred charges, including sexually penetrating multiple children he was employed to care for.

    Defence barrister Rishi Nathwani, KC, told the court his client, who appeared sporting a blond ponytail and green tracksuit, accepted “quite a significant amount of the offending”.

    MUMBAI — Music composer Sajid Khan said he narrowly escaped serious injury after a powerful cricket ball nearly struck him during an Indian Premier League match.

    Khan, best known as part of the composer duo Sajid-Wajid, shared a video of himself wearing a Punjab Kings jersey, with his forearm and leg bandaged. He said he suffered minor scratches and swelling after the incident during the Punjab Kings match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

    “Today, I faced a big problem. You can see this. I hit the ball very hard, and the ball was peeled off. And I hit the ball here. Yes, of course, it was a big scene. Actually, what happened was that the ball was coming exactly to me, and I could see. I could see the ball was lying on the ground,” Khan said in the video.

    The composer, known for his work in the Sajid-Wajid duo, avoided severe injuries but sustained minor scratches and swelling on his forearm and leg. The stray ball traveled into the seating area with enough force to tear its outer leather casing upon hitting a metal rod nearby.

    Trump says China to buy 200 Boeing planes, much lower than expected

    Neither the Chinese government nor Boeing issued statements confirming the purchase agreement.

    China has agreed to buy 200 Boeing jets, with a potential for the order to rise to as many as 750 planes, United States President Donald Trump has said, adding that the planes would have GE Aerospace engines.

    The deal “includes approximately 200 planes and a promise of up to 750 if they do a good job”, Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Friday. More details about the deal, such as which type of jets and when the order would be delivered, were not immediately available.

    Neither the Chinese government nor Boeing issued statements confirming the purchase agreement, which would mark a significant breakthrough in a market that was once central to the US aerospace company’s long-term growth and from which the US planemaker was largely shut out, amid trade tensions between Beijing and Washington. Planemakers usually disclose large deals once they are formalised.

    Trump’s Boeing jet deal may help stabilise China-US aerospace ties

    Details ranging from specific models, delivery arrangements and how Chinese operators would allocate the 200 planes are still lacking

    China’s first major order for Boeing aircraft in nearly a decade, along with an agreement to buy aircraft engines, could relieve pent-up demand for fleet upgrades and help the maker of the domestically built C919 secure stable supplies, analysts said.

    Trump also revealed an agreement for the purchase of up to 450 General Electric aircraft engines.

    Richard Aboulafia, managing director at the US-based aerospace consulting firm AeroDynamic Advisory, said the smaller order was “not a snub, but no great victory either”.

    “[It] keeps the door open and perhaps helps keep Airbus pricing more aggressive,” he added.
