Australian U20 international Musa Toure's first goal for Macarthur FC has secured the Bulls a 1-1 draw against A-League Men's premiers Newcastle at McDonald Jones Stadium.

NSW supreme court judge otherwise dismisses case brought by film’s co-producers and awards Wilson almost $400,000 after star countersued

Rebel Wilson has been ordered to pay A$10 (US$7, £5) in damages after emerging victorious from a bitter legal spat with her latest film’s co-producers.

The Pitch Perfect star directed, co-produced and starred in The Deb, a musical comedy that became the battleground for multiple legal battles in Australia and the US.

Filmed on a $22m budget, The Deb made just $335,000 (US$235,000, £175,284) at the local box office and is yet to screen outside Oceania.

Wilson’s co-producers allege that shortfall could be traced to her false and derogatory statements about them online.

Judge Rejects Bid to Sanction Rebel Wilson Over Alleged 'Fraud' Amid Smear Website Scandal

A California judge has rejected a bid to sanction Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson following accusations she lied under oath and manipulated key evidence in her bitter legal battle over her directorial debut, The Deb.

The movie’s producers Amanda Ghost, her husband, Gregor Cameron, and Vince Holden, sought sanctions against Wilson, accusing her of “fraud on the court.” The request was the latest salvo in the messy war where Ghost is suing Wilson for defamation, and Wilson is pursuing counterclaims against the producers for alleged bullying, intimidation, and breach of contract.

The producers claim that Wilson falsely testified about leaking a demand letter from her lawyer, Bryan Freedman, to a news reporter and falsely denied involvement in two anonymous websites that portrayed Ghost as a sex trafficker. In their motion, the producers said newly obtained evidence contradicted Wilson’s denials and linked her to the letter leak and websites.

Rebel Wilson Trial Over ‘The Deb’ Producers’ Defamation Claims Likely To Be Delayed

Years in the making, the L.A. courtroom showdown between Rebel Wilson and The Deb producers is not going to trial as scheduled.

In a filing Wednesday that has been agreed upon by all the principals, Wilson’s lead lawyer Allyson K. Thompson asked for the long-set January 19, 2027 trial to be pushed back more than two months. In fact, the Hart Kienle Pentecost attorney also requested to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Thomas Long that summary judgment hearings currently scheduled for December also be pushed back.

A hearing in downtown L.A. is on the books for Friday to address the requests. The parties are aiming to have the trial moved to March 22 next year.

LACHIE Whitfield's move to Carlton has been confirmed, reports AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

Whitfield will land at the Blues as the clubs swapped a host of draft picks, including four in this year's draft.

Greater Western Sydney had been consistent that it would take a first-round pick to nab the contracted defender, but the Blues have managed to get the deal done thanks to a handful of pick slides.

The Blues have picks 13 and 18, but need both to match a bid on father-son Cody Walker, so they were never on the table in a deal for Whitfield.

Carlton land Lachie Whitfield in major AFL trade with GWS Giants

Lachie Whitfield is now a Carlton player after GWS and the Blues completed a trade as the 2026 deadline approaches.

Whitfield has been traded alongside Picks 31 and 50 to Ikon Park, while the Giants pick up Picks 25, 26 and a 2028 third-round pick.

He has signed a three-year deal until the end of 2029, according to AFL Media.

GWS were adamant on improving its draft hand for 2026, and were hoping for one of Carlton's first-round selections.

The Blues did put forward a future first-round pick which was tied to Sydney but was seemingly bypassed.

Carlton emerged as Whitfield's most likely destination after the door opened on a potential move away from the Giants.

Ballarat will no longer host Spilt Milk with organisers announcing the popular festival will now be held in Geelong, leaving the council "disappointed".

The decision is a blow to the city's businesses, particularly accommodation, hospitality and transport operators, who have catered to about 40,000 patrons each year of the festival.

After four events at Victoria Park, the first in 2019, the regional touring festival will be held at the Kardinia Park Precinct in Geelong until 2030.

That victory came to light in an order from Judge Fernando Rodriguez, Jr., who tossed the complaint for lack of personal jurisdiction. We covered said complaint immediately after its July 2024 filing in a Texas federal court.

In brief, across two amended actions, producer plaintiffs Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar (known publicly as Kemikal956) accused Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almánzar) of borrowing from their “Greasy Frybread” effort without permission to create “Enough (Miami).”

Unsurprisingly, this included contributory and vicarious infringement claims against the major label defendant. However, the filing parties also sued for defamation, unfair competition, IP misappropriation, and more.

Cardi B Shuts Down Producers Accusing Her of Stealing Music

Cardi B and her record labels scored a legal win in the Lone Star State after being sued for allegedly using portions of another artist's song without permission … the lawsuit against them has just been thrown out of court for jurisdictional reasons.

Here's the deal … Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar (AKA Kemika 1956) filed suit against Cardi B back in July 2024, claiming Cardi and her producers stole their secret sauce by using parts of their 2021 song "Greasy Frybread" on her March 2024 hit single, "Enough (Miami)."

The lawsuit was filed in Texas … but according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ, it was dismissed due to a lack of personal jurisdiction. Translation: the judge ruled Fraustro and Aguilar didn't establish that the Texas court had the power to deal with the case.

Nvidia's Groq deal: Acquisition, acquihire or creative licensing deal?

Groq announced it has entered a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Nvidia for Groq's inference technology. Groq CEO Jonathan Ross and team will join Nvidia, but Groq will operate independently with GroqCloud.

News of a licensing deal landed as CNBC reported that Nvidia was buying Groq.

CNBC reported that Nvidia is acquiring Groq for $20 billion. CNBC's David Faber cited Groq investor Alex Davis, CEO of Disruptive, has his primary source. Groq, founded in 2016, had a valuation pushing $7 billion.

Groq’s secret sauce is a processor it calls the LPU (language processing unit). ‘The LPU integrates hundreds of MB of SRAM as primary weight storage (not cache), cutting latency and feeding compute units at full speed. This enables efficient tensor parallelism across chips, a practical advantage for fast, scalable inference,” said Groq. Groq's LPU is designed specifically for efficient AI inference.
