Antonelli seizes pole position for the United States GP

Kimi Antonelli was unbeatable in Qualifying for the United States Grand Prix, with the Italian sealing pole position for the seventh time in 2026.

Kimi Antonelli secured pole position for the United States Grand Prix, edging out the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar to set the fastest time in Qualifying.

On a weekend when the Italian could be crowned the World Champion, his first lap of 1m 34.035s in Q3 was enough to take pole, with no one able to find the improvements needed to challenge him in the final minutes.

Verstappen was nearly two-tenths off the pace in P2 as he went marginally quicker than Hadjar and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, while Lewis Hamilton settled for fifth place.

Verstappen seizes first pole of the season for Bahrain GP

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen topped each segment of Qualifying at the Sepang International Circuit on his way to clinching pole position.

Max Verstappen made a long-awaited return to the top of the timesheets in Qualifying, beating Lewis Hamilton and Isack Hadjar to take his first pole position of 2026 for the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.

After setting the pace through Q1 and Q2, Verstappen looked unbeatable and ultimately opened up an advantage of 0.298s over Hamilton, ending the session with a time of 1m 35.130s.

Red Bull came close to having the two fastest cars on the day before the Ferrari driver displaced Hadjar, who will receive a five-place grid penalty for the race. He also denied Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli a place in the top three during the final stage of Qualifying, with the Italian settling for P4 ahead of Charles Leclerc.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen claimed his first pole position of the season at the Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia on Saturday, with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton joining him on the front row.

It is the first time two great rivals have shared the front row of the grid since the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2023.

Verstappen's teammate, Isack Hadjar, was third fastest but will start eighth due to a grid penalty, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli in third alongside Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

Oscar Piastri was pipped to sixth by his teammate Lando Norris, but will move up a position as a result of Hadjar's penalty to start sixth as McLaren locked out the third row of the grid.

Washington | The Chinese government has taken possession of potentially sensitive F-35 stealth aircraft parts that were inexplicably diverted to Hong Kong while being sent to the United States from Australia, people briefed on the incident said.

UPS was shipping a cockpit canopy and weapons-bay door from an Australian military F-35 that was being sent to the US for inspection and possible repair or disposal in late May, according to the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private matters.

Chinese authorities reportedly in possession of F-35 components in Hong Kong

Chinese authorities are reportedly in possession of F-35 stealth fighter parts after components of the aircraft were "inexplicably diverted to Hong Kong."

Shipping giant UPS was sending a cockpit canopy and weapons bay door to the U.S. from Australia in late May when it was diverted, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing sources.

Both parts were coated with a radar absorbing material that enhances their stealth capabilities, the sources said, and it was not clear why the shipment was diverted to Hong Kong.

On Tuesday, Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles told reporters Tuesday that Australia was aware of the shipment, and was working with the U.S. and Lockheed Martin to see how Canberra can assist in the investigation.

SINGAPORE – A sweep across multiple jurisdictions led by global policing body Interpol, with raids in Singapore by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), has resulted in significant seizures of unapproved and counterfeit pharmaceuticals.

Interpol on May 7 said Singapore, along with Australia, New Zealand, the US and Britain, reported significant seizures of ivermectin – a treatment for parasitic worm infections – and fenbendazole, which is commonly used as a dewormer for pets.

Often mislabelled as health supplements, these products are being sold as part of so-called cancer treatment kits, making them easier to access and avoid regulation, Interpol added.
