South Africa, meanwhile, have won nine and lost 16 of their T20Is since that day in Barbados.

IND Opener Big Weakness Exposed in 2nd ODI!

Yashasvi Jaiswal was once seen as the unlucky player who never got a proper chance in the ODI team. Fans believed he deserved more time in the middle. Now that he finally has it, his form is slipping, and the second ODI against South Africa exposed a few concerns.

Jaiswal fell to a pull shot off Marco Jansen after getting set. Out of 38 balls, 29 were dots, giving him a dot ball percentage of 76.3 percent. Since the 2023 World Cup, this is the second highest among openers from full member Test nations who have faced at least 35 balls.

A clear trend is emerging. In his last six ODI innings, Jaiswal has been bowled by left arm pacers five times, and Jansen alone has dismissed him four times. His struggles against this angle now stand out more than ever.

South Africa stars to depart WBBL early for national duties

Three Big Bash clubs will call in reinforcements with South Africa's players to depart before the end of the regular season

Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp are among three Proteas stars who will have to depart Weber WBBL|11 before the end of the season, after South Africa confirmed their squads for their upcoming white-ball series against Ireland.

The opening T20I at Newlands will be held on December 5. Cricket South Africa have previously had some flexibility around permitting players to miss international games for the Big Bash, but with the 2026 T20 World Cup looming all Proteas will be required to report for duty.

Cricket South Africa has confirmed player selections for an upcoming white-ball series against Ireland, which will impact participants of Weber WBBL|11.

Among the notable players departing are Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp, who will leave their clubs early to join the national team. The first match of the T20I series is scheduled for December 5 at Newlands. Historically, Cricket South Africa has allowed flexibility for players to miss international commitments for the Big Bash; however, with the T20 World Cup on the horizon in 2026, all Proteas players are required to fulfill their national duties.
