Taranaki close gap against Canterbury in NPC semi-final
The road to the National Provincial Championship will indeed run through Christchurch.
After dispatching Taranaki 38-28 at home on Sunday afternoon, Canterbury earned the right to host next week’s final, which will have a bit of a novelty factor about it.
It will be the first
time Northland have contested the main event of the NPC season, while the final will be held on a Monday – taking advantage of Labour Day with a 1.30pm kickoff.
“This Taranaki team threw it all at us, so we’re going to recover over the next couple of days and look forward to a good challenge ahead against Northland,” Canterbury captain Brodie McAlister told Sky Sport.
