Bees Have Been Terrorizing Disney World for Years, and Disney Just Fought Back
There are certain recurring challenges at Walt Disney World that come up in the guest experience conversation often enough that the theme park community has developed a kind of weary familiarity with them. Crowds during spring break and summer.
Lightning delays on outdoor attractions. The particular frustration of a Lightning Lane selling out before you finish your morning coffee. And then, sitting in its own category entirely, the ongoing situation with bees at Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company kiosks across the Walt Disney World property.
The bee problem at Joffrey’s is not a new story. It has been developing for years across multiple park locations, with documented closures and limited menus forced by bee activity at kiosks throughout the resort. The appeal for bees is not difficult to understand. Joffrey’s kiosks are open-air food service locations that display syrups, pastries, and sweetened beverages in a theme park with approximately no shortage of floral landscaping and sugar-adjacent smells in every direction.
Joffrey’s Kiosks in EPCOT Add Screens & Windows for Bee Protection
After years of bee problems at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company kiosks throughout Walt Disney World, the EPCOT locations have added windows and screens to their formerly open booths. This not only protects the snacks and syrups from the sugar-loving bees, but also keeps the cast members safer.
The EPCOT booths previously had open sides. Now they have windows and mesh screens. Pictured above is the booth near Disney Traders before and after the installation.
There are still openings so cast members can communicate with guests. The mesh also means the booth is more protected without completely blocking airflow.
Here’s the booth over by The American Adventure before and after. A screen is in front of the donut case, while guests can order through windows to the sides. The window frames match the theming of the rest of the booth.

The Bee Invasion at Disney Got So Bad That They Had to Physically Block Them Out
Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company has had a bee problem at Walt Disney World for years. Documented closures. Limited menus forced by bee activity. Cast members are dealing with uninvited guests of the six-legged variety on a recurring basis across multiple park locations. The Magic Kingdom kiosk had bee-related operational issues as recently as November 2025. And the EPCOT locations have had documented bee problems stretching back even further than that.
Three Joffrey’s kiosks at EPCOT have been fitted with windows and mesh screens, closing off the previously open sides of the booths and creating a physical barrier between the sweetened contents inside and the bee population that has been treating those contents as a reliable food source for the better part of several years.
