    'Don't go there': Pauline Hanson fires up in Q&A over White Australia policy

    One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has told a business breakfast in Perth she believes migration from radical Islamic countries should be banned.

    She angrily denied suggestions from the event's host this amounted to a "version" of the White Australia policy.

    About 80 protesters gathered outside the event, chanting phrases such as "migrants are welcome, racists are not".

    One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has angrily denied suggestions her strident opposition to migration by anyone from "radical Islamic countries" amounts to a version of the White Australia policy.

    Ms Hanson was speaking at a Perth leadership breakfast hosted by The West Australian newspaper after returning from the UK, where she had blamed the end of the White Australia policy for migration issues in Australia during an interview with far-right activist and convicted criminal Tommy Robinson.

    A dark chapter of Australia's past is resurfacing in immigration politics

    One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has sparked a new discussion about the resurgence of a 'White Australia' policy — a controversial series of laws that discriminated against non-European migrants.

    Hanson, during an appearance on a podcast with the British far-right, anti-immigration activist and convicted criminal Tommy Robinson last week, suggested that scrapping the White Australia policy was the root cause of apparent migration issues in Australia.

    "It started in 1973 with Gough Whitlam, so they opened up and got rid of the White Australia policy, then they started bringing in the different migrants," she said.

    The BBC conspiracy series stars Holliday Grainger as Detective Inspector Rachel Carey. Season 2, which was released on the streaming platform in 2022, followed Rachel as she worked as an undercover investigator within the ranks of Correction to gather evidence and expose the government conspiracy.

    Rachel’s work began when combat vet Shaun Emery was accused of assaulting and kidnapping his female barrister. A nearby CCTV camera caught the entire thing, and Emery was well on his way to going to prison for the crime.

    Ron Perlman Hit Thriller TV Show Returns to Peacock Today

    Peacock subscribers can now watch the newest season of Hellboy vet Ron Perlman‘s hit conspiracy thriller series. Starting today, all six episodes of The Capture Season 3 are available to stream on Peacock. The third installment first aired earlier this year in the UK on BBC One.

    In The Capture, Perlman plays a powerful and cynical CIA Section Chief named Frank Napier, who uses ruthless tactics to protect American interests. Season 3 also stars Holliday Grainger, Killian Scott, Paapa Essiedu, Lia Williams, Ben Miles, Ginny Holder, Nigel Lindsay, Tessa Wong, Indira Varma, Linus Roache, and Andy Nyman.

    Is There Another MoonSwatch Type Collaboration on the Way?

    Swatch is teasing something big for May 16th. It started over the weekend when a pair of newspaper advertisements with small bits of dials and a movement appeared in The Guardian. The ads seemed to suggest that Swatch was cooking up something similar to the MoonSwatch, a miracle series of high-low collaborations with Omega that caught fire in the industry. On Wednesday morning, Swatch shared a video with clues as to who this next partner may be. Which has us asking: Is there really about to be a Swatch-made version of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak?!

    All the signs seem to suggest that the Royal Oak is the next watch that Swatch will translate to the masses. The teaser video posted this morning flashes the word “Royal” in AP’s distinctive font followed by “Pop.” The use of bright colors suggests there will be a pop art spin on the recognizable Royal Oak. (Representatives for Swatch and Audemars Piguet declined to comment.)

    Swatch Is Finally About to Upstage the MoonSwatch

    A Royal Oak collab is definitely on the way. But what will it look like?

    In 2022, Swatch collaborated with sister brand Omega to launch the MoonSwatch. This BioCeramic take on the iconic, space-traveling, luxury chronograph was a sensation, to say the least. Swatch sold over a million of them in its first year, with the MoonSwatch becoming the rare horological object to cross over into the broader culture.

    In the past four years, Swatch has released countless MoonSwatch variations, effectively bludgeoning the collab to the point of irrelevance. The brand also collaborated with another member of the Swatch Group, Blancpain, on a BioCeramic version of the legendary Fifty Fathoms dive watch in 2023. The Scuba Fifty Fathoms has its fans, including yours truly, but it failed to ignite anything close to the excitement we saw with the MoonSwatch.

    Is Swatch teasing a Royal Oak collaboration with Audemars Piguet?

    The cryptic “Royal” ad, featuring the same font Audemars Piguet uses on its iconic model, has sparked speculation among collectors and watch enthusiasts

    It is the “Royal” version of the ad that has the internet in a tizzy. Collectors and enthusiasts – particularly us at the Style team – speculate that the “Royal” could even refer to the much-loved Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, especially given the “Royal” in the ad features the same font that the independent Swiss watchmaker uses for its own Royal Oak branding.

    The Royal Oak, courtesy of Gerald Genta, is considered a grail piece for many, and one of the most recognised integrated sports watch designs on the planet since its release in 1972. We reached out to Audemars Piguet and Swatch Group but neither were available for comment at the time of publishing.

    The Predicament Facing Michael Voss

    A lot of hay and media attention has been made with the coaching future of Michael Voss. The current top man at the Carlton Football Club has been plagued with critics calling for his head, and unfortunately for Voss, his players aren’t giving him much of a defence.
