Bernard Tomic has been beaten by Lloyd Harris at the US Open qualifiers, as his wait to reach the main draw of a grand slam continues.

Tomic was beaten in three sets by Harris while Emerson Jones and Alex Bolt were also beaten.

The main draw of the US Open gets underway from August 30 at Flushing Meadows in New York.

Bernard Tomic's seemingly unending quest to fight his way back into another grand slam main draw has fallen short once again at Flushing Meadows despite one more worthy scrap from the veteran Australian.

ATP US Open Best Bets Including Bernard Tomic Vs Lloyd Harris

The 2026 US Open begins this week with three rounds of qualifying at the Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. It’s called “The World’s Toughest Tennis” for a reason. It’s later in the season. Players have powered through a month of hardcourt tennis in often-punishing summer heat and humidity. Players had to deal with a lot of rain delays in Canada and Cincinnati. Now they come to New York, the big city, trying to make an impact at the last Major tournament of the year. The US Open exposes who is not fit enough to be an elite player, and who has staying power well after the clay season and grass season have ended. Who carries form into the end of summer, and who wilts in the late-August heat? It’s Open season, one could say. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

Bernard Tomic stood tall as Australian hopefuls suffered a sorry start on the opening day of French Open qualifying with four of the five players in action beaten.

It looked as if it would be a wipeout when Tomic, the last of the quintet in action at Roland Garros, lost Monday's first set to seeded Tunisian veteran Moez Echargui.

Bernard Tomic has survived an epic three-setter against Moez Echargui to advance in the French Open qualifiers.

Tomic was the only Australian to advance as Dane Sweeny, Alex Bolt, Christopher O'Connell and Taylah Preston all suffered losses.

Tomic is two wins from the main draw of the French Open. He will next face Italian teenager Federic Cina, who is ranked 216th in the world.

It looked as if it would be a wipeout when Tomic, the last of the quintet in action at Roland Garros, lost Monday's first set to seeded Tunisian veteran Moez Echargui.

But Tomic, who has been trying to roll back the years for more years than he'd care to remember, came back in style to win 3-6 7-5 6-3 in two pulsating hours.

A decade after he reached a career-high of 18 in the world Tomic is now rarely seen at the grand slams, last competing in a main draw match at the 2021 Australian Open.

Roger Federer gave Bernard Tomic a blunt assessment 10 years ago when the Aussie threatened to be tennis’ next big thing. But, a decade on, he might finally be following Federer’s advice.
