AFL legend Tony Modra shares post-surgery photos after truck crash

Adelaide Crows legend Tony Modra has shared two post-crash photos on Instagram, including of himself with family.

In the post, he said he was "getting out and about a bit now, and slowly catching up on everything I missed over the last month".

Modra underwent surgery last month after the truck he was driving hit a tree near Victor Harbor.

In a social media post, the two-time All-Australian AFL star said he was "getting out and about", and praised the medical staff who "saved my life" and "put me back together with a few titanium plates".

Australian football legend Tony Modra has posted to Instagram one month after undergoing emergency facial surgery following a truck crash that almost claimed his life.

The 57-year-old was released from hospital three weeks ago but had laid relatively low until taking to social media on Tuesday.

Modra posted a photo alongside his wife and two children, where injuries to the left side of his head are evident.

The post also included a photo from the intensive care unit where Modra is being hugged by his family while lying in a hospital bed.

Mary Beth Hurt — who appeared in such films as The World According to Garp and Woody Allen’s Interiors — has died at the age of 79. According to Variety, the cause of death was complications from Alzheimer’s. Her daughter Molly and husband Paul Schrader announced her death in a joint social media statement. “She was an actress, a wife, a sister, a mother, an aunt, a friend, and she took on all those roles with grace and kind ferocity,” it reads. “Although we’re all grieving there is some comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and reunited with her sisters in peace.”
