    Government unveils Department of Defence overhauls amid delays, blowouts

    Defence Minister Richard Marles had previously flagged the restructure, declaring in June that "everything was on the table". 

    Defence currently has a budget of almost $60 billion a year but that figure is set to rise to about $100 billion annually by 2034.

    The federal government has unveiled a sweeping overhaul of the Department of Defence as it struggles to fight cost blowouts and major project delays while ramping up spending on the military.

    Defence Minister Richard Marles has announced a dedicated independent agency will be established to prioritise delivering projects on time and within budget.

    A historic overhaul of the defence bureaucracy has set the stage for a vigorous debate on defence funding among the Albanese government’s most powerful players, as Defence Minister Richard Marles and Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy push their cabinet colleagues for a substantial rise in military spending.

    Spilt Milk Unveils Set Times, Adds Extra Acts To Line-up

    Genesis Owusu and Lotte Gallagher have joined this year's Spilt Milk line-up.

    Spilt Milk Festival has expanded this year’s event, adding two acts to the line-up and revealing set times and other festival information today.

    With just a few weeks to go, three sold-out events and limited tickets available for Perth, it’s been confirmed that Genesis Owusu joins the fun while replacing d4vd, and indie rock singer-songwriter Lotte Gallagher has also joined the line-up in Victoria, replacing Larissa Lambert.

    The newly announced acts join a stacked roster of hip-hop, R&B, electronic, and indie artists. Headlined by the one and only Kendrick Lamar, this year’s festival also stars heavy hitters such as Doechii, Sara Landry, Dominic Fike, Schoolboy Q, sombr, Nessa Barrett, Don West, and many others.
