    NSW Blues interchange forward Victor Radley has reflected on a rollercoaster 12 months, which saw him suspended at club level with the Sydney Roosters, while also reaching the glorious heights of a State of Origin debut in Game 1.

    Radley was pulled up in September for a 10-match suspension without pay, a club-high record, following bringing the Roosters into disrepute in an off-field scandal. 

    Although later the club board deemed his contributions to the England Ashes side and preseason matches acceptable under their punishment, meaning he returned to the Roosters only after five NRL games this year.

    Radley was also on the positive end of rule changes concerning Tier 1 nation eligibility for Origin in February, allowing him to play for England and become available for selection for the Blues.

    The San Antonio Spurs have officially made the 2026 NBA Finals a series after taking Game 3 on the road in Madison Square Garden. However, their victory may have come at a heavy cost. After reviewing a first quarter shove of New York's Jalen Brunson by Victor Wembanyama, the league's head of officiating, Monty McCutchen, has admitted they missed a foul call on the play. Even worse for San Antonio is that it could turn into a retroactive flagrant.

    While there is no trouble just yet, Wembanyama has put himself in danger with this foul. Should the league upgrade it to a flagrant 1, Wembanyama would be subject to suspension if he were to commit another similar foul.

    Spurs' Victor Wembanyama (ankle) misses loss to Nuggets

    The San Antonio Spurs were without star center Victor Wembanyama for Thursday night's 136-131 loss to the Denver Nuggets because of right ankle soreness.

    The Spurs announced the decision about 45 minutes before tipoff against the visiting Nuggets and Nikola Jokic in a battle of two of the Western Conference's top teams.

    Wembanyama, who had been questionable on the NBA injury report ahead of the game, tested the ankle pregame before the Spurs opted to keep him out.

    "We'll be mindful of all of it," coach Mitch Johnson said pregame. "Fortunately, I think regardless, this is something we view as very short term. It's very much how he's feeling versus risk of bigger picture."

    Victor Wembanyama Injury: Optimism to play Saturday

    Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson said that he's optimistic that Wembanyama (ankle) will play against the Hornets on Saturday, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.

    Wembanyama was unable to play against the Nuggets on Thursday due to a right ankle injury. The third-year phenom can be considered a game-time decision for Saturday's contest, and if he can't play, he'll likely be available for Monday's game against the Clippers. If Wembanyama is ruled out, then Luke Kornet would likely remain in the Spurs' starting lineup.

    Victor Wembanyama hating the Thunder is so great for the NBA

    If there's one man who could prevent the juggernaut Oklahoma City Thunder from having an extended "super" dynasty, it's Victor Wembanyama. That is not meant as disrespect to someone like Nikola Jokić. But as he turns 31 years old this February, he, a resurgent Jamal Murray, and the rest of the Denver Nuggets will realistically only duel with the Thunder for the NBA's crown for a few more years. They're a worthy adversary, but they won't be a roadblock the Thunder will have to overcome indefinitely.

    It's different with Wembanyama. I don't just say that because he won't even be "feeling 22" until this January. I say it because his ceiling as a potential all-time talent — a 7-foot-4 basketball demon who shoots well from the 3-point line at volume and who could be the best rim protector ever at the same time — feels so untapped. I say it because we're likely only still scratching the surface of what Wembanyama can be at his absolute best. (Also, he might literally still be growing: height-wise, I mean.) The same sentiment applies to his burgeoning, upstart San Antonio Spurs, who are quickly learning how to win while building a culture that can last.
