    Marco Rubio has offered nonsensical rationale in attacking the court. The Trump administration’s real goal is impunity

    With the pointless war of choice in Iran going poorly, the Trump administration has declared a virtual war on the international criminal court (ICC). Secretary of state, Marco Rubio, vowed on Monday to “dismantle” the court as a supposed threat to US sovereignty. His rationale is laced with sophistry. The administration’s real goal is to secure impunity for war crimes, even those committed on the territory of ICC member states.

    In a Wall Street Journal op-ed and a video posted on X, Rubio conjures up a dystopia in which local American officials such as police officers or border patrol agents “could be dragged before an international court, tried by judges from random countries across the globe, found guilty under international laws we neither consent to nor control, and then imprisoned thousands of miles from America”.

    Lawyers condemn US campaign against ICC

    Human rights organisations and international law experts are condemning the US administration's pledge to dismantle the International Criminal Court.

    The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio has described the ICC as an intolerable threat to US sovereignty and vowed to dismantle it brick by brick if necessary.

    The Trump administration wants to dismantle the International Criminal Court. Can it?

    On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote a blistering missive in the Wall Street Journal unveiling plans to dismantle the International Criminal Court (ICC). He claimed it threatened “US soldiers, police officers, Border Patrol agents and elected leaders” under international laws that “we neither consent to nor control”.

    The State Department then unveiled the steps it would take to target the court, which include pressuring allies to resist ICC attempts to prosecute Americans, travel bans on ICC officials, and increased sanctions on the court.

    The State Department called the court an “intolerable threat to US sovereignty”.

    But Rubio’s claims show a wilful ignorance of international law, out of step with someone of his office.

    Carlton GM of Football Chris Davies spoke to SEN on the morning of the Blues' 2026 AFL Carlton Respects Game against Geelong, speaking not only on the Club's flagship community initiative, but also the key questions facing the Club heading into a busy end to 2026.

    With confirmation of the Blues' coaching selection process coming on Thursday night, Davies said the Blues would approach the process with open minds, ensuring that come the end of it, the next coach of the football club would be "the best person for Carlton".

    West Coast premiership coach features among four-person panel to select Michael Voss' replacement

    ADAM Simpson will join a trio of Carlton officials on a panel that will select the club's replacement for departed senior coach Michael Voss. 

    Simpson, who coached West Coast to a Grand Final in 2015 and to a premiership in 2018, has acted as a coaching consultant at Carlton this season amid his media work. 

    He will join Carlton CEO Graham Wright, president Rob Priestley and football boss Chris Davies on a four-person panel. 

    The group will also consult with Blues football director Greg Williams on the decision. 

    In a letter to members, Priestley said the group's collective experience in football meant it was well-qualified to appoint the best candidate to replace Voss.

    “I started to think about the way in which death was so often a time of bitterness, of anger, of regret, shaking your fist at the universe or your god and going, ‘what the hell is going on here?’ I don’t want that,” the much-loved Sydney personality said during a living wake that was filmed for an emotional episode of the ABC’s Australian Story that screened on Monday night.

    NASA offers a free interactive tool that allows users to type their name into a search bar and see it spelled out in natural formations on Earth as viewed from outer space, courtesy of data from NASA's Landsat satellites.

    "With each new launch, Landsat’s decades-long data record becomes even more valuable. As the longest continuous space-based record of Earth’s surface, Landsat offers a unique resource to scientists studying long-term changes. Researchers have used Landsat’s archive to study how cities have grown, coastlines have shifted, crop cycles have changed, and forests have transformed since the 1970s," NASA's website says.

    For Earth Day, the agency released a delightfully nerdy tool that lets you type in any name or word and see it spelled out in real satellite images using rivers, islands, glaciers, deserts, and coastlines that just happen to look like letters from orbit.

    Heading into Game 4 of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 Championship Series, the Adelaide 36ers trail the Sydney Kings 2-1.

    In the two games the 36ers have lost, both at Qudos Bank Arena, Adelaide, as coach Mike Wells has pointed out, have lost the foul count 24-11.

    In particular, Wells expressed his frustrations about the lack of fouls that are being called on Kings’ trio, Matthew Dellavedova, Torrey Craig and Makuach Maluach while defending six-time MVP Bryce Cotton.

    “Matthew Dellavedova played how many minutes? He had zero fouls, guys. The main guy that's on Bryce Cotton had zero fouls, and he's guarding him like this. That’s not a legal guarding position,” Wells said in Sunday’s post-game press conference.

    A second straight 67 vaulted Green to 14 under par entering the final round as Australia's world No.7 chases a rare hat-trick of tour victories on Sunday at Gold Coast's Sanctuary Cove course.

    Green will be odds on to add the Karrie Webb Cup to the Australian Open crown she won last week in Adelaide and the Women's World Championship in Singapore, which was her seventh LPGA title.

The fastest is Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball fifty, in the 2007 World T20, against England in Durban. Abhishek's 14-ball fifty is also the quickest by any batter against New Zealand.

    3 Number of instances of Abhishek reaching his fifty within the powerplay. Both the previous instances came in 2025: against England in Mumbai, and against Sri Lanka in Dubai.
