Dennis Bergkamp got us off to the perfect start when he swept a shot into the net after just eight minutes, but the hosts battled back and equalised when Vio Ganea tucked home after a corner kick.

    Tijjani Reijnders has warned Arsenal that Manchester City remain firmly "on the hunt" for the Premier League title.

    City have cranked up the pressure on the Gunners in the past week by cutting their lead at the top of the table to four points with victories over Liverpool and Fulham.

    Pep Guardiola's side also progressed in the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over League Two Salford on Saturday to maintain momentum on multiple fronts.

    Reijnders said: "The mood's been good, but it was also good before. Of course we've dropped some points as well but it's good and we are on the hunt and we keep going.

    Beijing bronze medallist Tess Coady has failed to qualify for the final of women’s snowboard slopestyle at the Winter Olympics as her 16-year-old teammate Ally Hickman made it in sixth spot.

    Qualification was brought forward 24 hours with a blizzard forecast to hit Livigno, and wind still made it difficult.

    And it was Coady who was wiped out with her best score in two runs leaving her 27th in a field of 30.

    Meila Stalker also missed the 12-boarder final in 22nd but said it was “awesome day” after struggling with the course in practice and changing up her run the night before.

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Michael Jordan, six-time NBA champion, is now a Daytona 500 winner, too.

    Tyler Reddick won "The Great American Race" on Sunday with a last-lap pass at Daytona International Speedway that sent Jordan into a frantic celebration. The NBA Hall of Famer bear-hugged Reddick in Victory Lane and then jointly hoisted the Harley J. Earl Trophy with the 23XI Racing driver.

    Jordan, who turns 63 on Tuesday, will get a Daytona 500 ring for his birthday and made it known in Victory Lane that he wears a size 13.

    Tyler Reddick won the Daytona 500 in a car owned by Michael Jordan when Chase Elliott crashed as he and Reddick were battling for the win in NASCAR’s season opener.

    Reddick, in a Toyota for 23XI Racing, led only one lap on Sunday: the one to the checkered flag for the team owned by the NBA Hall of Famer and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin.

    “Just incredible how it all played out. Just true Daytona madness,” Reddick said. “I’ve already lost my voice from screaming. Never thought I’d be Daytona 500 champion.”

    Official race results for the 2026 Daytona 500

    Cars were crashing all over the place on the final lap, but NASCAR kept it green as Tyler Reddick used a push from 23XI Racing teammate Riley Herbst to take the lead and win NASCAR's biggest race. This follows a 2025 season where he went winless, but he more than made up for it as he hands team owners Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin's NASCAR's most coveted trophy.

    Former Daytona 500 winners Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Joey Logano finished second and third, respectively, and all three 23XI drivers finished inside the top ten

    Zane Smith won Stage 1 while Bubba Wallace won Stage 2 at Daytona.

    Brazil's Lucas Pinheiro Braathen wins Olympic giant slalom gold

    BORMIO, Italy — Brazilian ski racer Lucas Pinheiro Braathen turned in a powerful final run to win the Olympic giant slalom Saturday and earn South America's first medal at a Winter Games.

    With snow falling and fog settling in, the 25-year-old Pinheiro Braathen remained cool and relaxed as he navigated his way through the technical Stelvio course. After seeing his place – No. 1 – he fell to the snow before starting to scream.

    He finished in a two-run combined time of 2 minutes, 25 seconds. He beat Swiss racer Marco Odermatt, the defending Olympic champion, by 0.58 seconds. Odermatt's teammate, Loic Meillard, earned bronze.

    Men’s giant slalom: We are a few minutes away from the start of the second run. Brazil are on course for a first Winter Olympic medal (and a gold one at that) with Lucas Pinheiro Braathen leading by almost a second (!) after this morning’s run. He will take to the course last but those going first will have the most favourable snow conditions, so it’s all to play for!

    Sweden fell three times in that race! Ebba Andersson went twice on the second leg and, in an attempt to get her a new ski, the Swedish technician also took a tumble. To come back and win silver will feel almost like gold for them.

    Lucas Pinheiro Braathen used to ski for Norway before switching to Brazil, the land of his mother

    Lucas Pinheiro Braathen made history for Brazil by clinching his nation's first Winter Olympic medal with gold in the giant slalom.

    Born in Oslo to a Norwegian father and Brazilian mother, Pinheiro Braathen won World Cup medals for the country of his birth before announcing his shock retirement in 2023 having lost his "joy of living".

    Exactly a year to the day, having regained his love for skiing, he returned to the sport in the green and yellow of Brazil – wanting to honour his heritage on his mother's side.

    Cooper Woods has stunned himself as well as the moguls world by coming from nowhere to win gold, claiming Australia's first medal of the Milan-Cortina Olympics.

    The 25-year-old had never even won a World Cup event and didn't advance through the first qualification in the top 10.

    He topped the second qualification round on Thursday morning and then shocked the field to also gain the No.1 ranking for the final, meaning he came out of the gates last.

    All-time greats Mikael Kingsbury of Canada and Japan's Akuma Horishima were the skiers to beat and when Woods's score lit up it was the same as Kingsbury – 83.71 – but the Australian had the higher turns score giving him the gold.

    INGLEWOOD, CA — The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is just a couple of days away, but the weekend's festivities started in earnest Friday with the popular NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and the Castrol Rising Stars mini-tournament.

    In the celebrity showcase, familiar faces normally spotted in the crowd got their time to shine on the court.

    Actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key, actor Simu Liu, rapper GloRilla, "Love Island USA" star Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Grammy Award-winning producer and L.A. native Mustard and ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania were just a few names that took part Friday night.

    There were also current professional athletes in the mix, such as Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, joined by coaches on the sideline like the Antetokounmpo brothers and Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts.

    Rome Flynn is making the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game his personal playground. For the second year in a row, the multitalented actor and musician walked off the court with the hardware, proving his 2025 performance was no fluke. Flynn led Team Giannis to a 65-58 victory over Team Anthony on Friday night, cementing his status as the undisputed king of the star-studded exhibition.

    While the Celebrity Game is usually known for its viral moments and questionable jump shots, Flynn brought legitimate game to the hardwood. He was there to hoop. Flynn finished the night with a game-high 17 points, showcasing a smooth offensive repertoire that kept the defense on its heels. Whether he was driving to the rim or hitting timely jumpers, he acted as the engine that kept Team Giannis ahead in a competitive back-and-forth affair.

    BORMIO, Italy — Franjo von Allmen of Switzerland joined elite ski-racing company by winning the men's super-G on Wednesday for his third Olympic gold medal of the Milan Cortina Games.

    Finding a fast line, von Allmen finished in a time of 1 minute, 25.32 seconds along the Stelvio course to beat American Ryan Cochran-Siegle by 0.13 seconds. Marco Odermatt of Switzerland captured bronze on a warm day.

    The 24-year-old von Allmen became the third men's Alpine ski racer to win three events at one Winter Olympics. The other two are legends of the sport: Jean-Claude Killy of France, who won three at the 1968 Grenoble Games, and Austrian Anton "Toni" Sailer, a three-time winner at the 1956 Winter Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

    First gold of Games 'like a movie' for Von Allmen

    Swiss Alpine skier Franjo von Allmen was crowned the first champion of the 2026 Winter Olympics as Italians Giovanni Franzoni and Dominik Paris won their nation's first medals in the downhill.

    Von Allmen blazed down the iconic Stelvio in a time of one minute 51.61 seconds, 0.20 seconds quicker than fellow 24-year-old Franzoni.

    Paris, the veteran on the podium at 36, was half a second slower than Von Allmen as he pipped Swiss great and runaway World Cup leader Marco Odermatt to the bronze medal.

    "It feels kind of like a movie, not really real," said Von Allmen.

    When the last Olympics took place, Von Allmen was yet to make his World Cup debut but he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top.

    Sabalenka, Gauff grind out wins to advance at Australian Open

    Top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka overcame several bouts of inconsistent play Friday to beat Anastasia Potapova 7-6 (4), 7-6 (7) and advance to the fourth round at the Australian Open.

    Third-seeded Coco Gauff also took a tough route through the third round, weathering early trouble against fellow American Hailey Baptiste before advancing with a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory. Gauff cut down her unforced errors and did not serve any double-faults in the second set.

    Sabalenka, chasing her third Australian Open title in four years, led 6-5 and 40-0 in the opening set but Potapova saved all three set points to send it to a tiebreaker. Sabalenka led 3-0 in the tiebreaker before Potapova leveled at 3-3.

    'Emotionally all over the place' Sabalenka wins

    Aryna Sabalenka won the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024 before finishing runner-up last year

    World number one Aryna Sabalenka said she was "emotionally all over the place" as she squeezed past Anastasia Potapova to reach the Australian Open fourth round.

    The Belarusian, a heavy favourite for a title she has already won twice, was cruising at a set and 4-0 up.

    However, the 27-year-old was left feeling "disconnected from my body" as 55th-ranked Potapova fought back, with Sabalenka forced to fend off four set points before clinching a 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (9-7) victory.

    Afterwards, a reflective Sabalenka admitted it was a match she would have gone on to lose earlier in her career.
