The World of Harry Potter Arrives to the Epic Ecosystem

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Epic are celebrating the world of Harry Potter across the Epic ecosystem this December in Fortnite, Rocket League and the Epic Games Store.

Hogwarts Legacy is free on the Epic Games Store now through December 18 at 11 AM ET as part of the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale. By spending at least two hours in the world of Hogwarts Legacy by December 18, players can earn the Chocolate Frog Back Bling in Fortnite.

Later in December, the Fortnite Shop will feature Outfits and accessories inspired by the wizarding world. Players can customize each Outfit to represent one of the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.

Is Fortnite down? When will the game be back online with Winterfest?

Yes, the popular Battle Royale game officially went offline at 4 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, Dec. 18 for a scheduled update to launch Fortnite's annual Winterfest.

Fortnite's Chapter 7, Season 1 Pacific Break began on Nov. 29 following the mini Simpsons season.

"Winterfest blows into the Golden Coast! Downtime for v39.11 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand," Fortnite Status posed on X.

However, Epic Games did have a message to Xbox users with this update: "Please note that the update on Xbox devices may be larger than usual."

Fortnite's annual Winterfest takes place during the regular season of the game, but gives players daily free prizes in the form of presents they get to open and other winter-themed aspects in the game.

Bishkek and Cyprus discuss cooperation in urban development

A meeting between Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev and Cyprus Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kypros Georgallis took place in the conference hall of the capital's municipality.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in the areas of urban development, traffic management, and ensuring a safe and efficient transport infrastructure.

A dozen World Cup 2026 spots will be secured in the coming days as nine berths in UEFA and three in Concacaf will be decided in the next three days.

Only three spots in Europe have been secured, as Croatia, England and France have won their respective groups.

Both Africa and Asia are in playoffs for potential World Cup spots. In Africa, Nigeria plays DR Congo on Nov. 16 for a spot in a six-team intercontinental playoff. In Asia, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates are facing off in a two-legged tie on Nov. 13 (a 1-1 tie) and Nov. 18 for a spot in the intercontinental playoff. The intercontinental playoff will take place in March 2026.

How World Cup expansion is driving Asia’s naturalisation arms race

As Asiaâs allocation has now doubled, many nations look to foreign-born talent to push them towards qualification

When the United Arab Emirates line up against Iraq on Thursday for the fifth and final round of Asian qualification for next yearâs World Cup, it is likely that over half of the home starting XI in Abu Dhabi will be foreign-born. The UAE are, however, merely another participant in a naturalisation arms race in the continent that has been boosted by the expansion of the World Cup from 32 teams to 48.

Asiaâs allocation has doubled from four automatic spots in Qatar to eight in North America, opening up the tournament to a new array of contenders desperate to play on the greatest stage of all. Japan, South Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Australia have historically dominated World Cup qualifying, with North Korea the most recent outlier in 2010. Those six are the only teams from the Asian Football Confederation to make more than one appearance at the tournament.
