Turns Out, Being Pals With Luke Grimes Does Not Come With The Marshals Perks (For Riley Green) I Would Have Guessed

I had been looking forward to Riley Green’s entrance on Marshals for a while now, and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, his episode of the Yellowstone spinoff was the best one yet. Now, considering the fact that Green is a very popular country singer and a friend of the show’s lead, Luke Grimes, I had assumed he was offered the part. However, it turns out he really didn’t get any perks when it came to landing this role on the hit CBS series.

Riley Green Teases New 'Marshals' Episode After Making Acting His Debut

Riley Green is stirring anticipation for the new episode of Marshals.

Green shared a teaser for the Western-drama on Instagram on Thursday evening(April 23). The clip captures the country star, who plays former Navy SEAL Garrett, singing “My Way.” Green wrote ballad for his acting debut on the series, and sings it around a campfire in a scene with Luke Grimes. Grimes reprised his role as Kayce Dutton for the Yellowstone spinoff, which follows the ex-Navy SEAL as he “leaves the Yellowstone ranch to work with an elite U.S. Marshals team,” per its description on IMDb. The cast also includes Logan Marshall-Green, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, Ash Santos, Arielle Kebbel and others. The next episode is set to air on Sunday (April 26).

Why Garrett From The Yellowstone Spin-Off Marshals Looks So Familiar

It's not even 10 episodes old yet and there's already a new kid on the "Marshals" block. In the "Yellowstone" spin-off's 8th episode, "Blowback," Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Cal's (Logan Marshall-Green) old SEAL friend, Garrett, comes to town. The character is played by country singer Riley Green, who makes his acting debut with the role. His premiere gig is slated to last for three more episodes.

Garrett is destitute — he only brings a guitar and a single bag with him to Montana when he heads to Kayce's property. Kayce puts him up and quickly learns that the former Navy man is suffering from some severe PTSD. Audiences watch as he deals with night terrors stemming from the death of his friend in the field. He and Cal also have some bad blood between them, which comes from his last tour of duty.
