Young RedHawks fans can bank on 'Hawkeye' this summer, and other notable F-M promotions at Newman
FARGO — Young Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks fans can bank on mascot "Hawkeye" this summer.
The mascot coin back giveaway, scheduled for July 21, at Newman Outdoor Field is one of the unique giveaways for American Association baseball team as the RedHawks celebrate their 30th anniversary.
“We try to do kind of a kid-specific giveaway every year," said Ashley McCoy, an assistant general manager in charge of promotions for the RedHawks.
The first 500 kids, 12 years old and younger, receives a Hawkeye coin bank, which is similar to a bobblehead-like (without the bobble) figurine with a coin slot in the back of Hawkeye.
“The coin bank was big," added Karl Hoium, the team's vice president and general manager. "That was something I personally tried to get here for years, going back to when I was the promotions director.”
