Premier League superstars on the plane to Sydney
Cole Palmer, João Pedro, Estêvão and Andy Robertson are among the Premier League superstars heading to Australia for the Sydney Super Cup.
New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso confirmed the touring party on Saturday as the big-spending club jetted out of London for games against Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday and fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur on August 1.
As expected, players who featured at the World Cup have been given time off ahead of the Premier League season kick-off on August 22 (AEST).
Alonso has also included highly rated 21-year-old Italy right back Marco Palestra, a new signing from Serie A heavyweights Atalanta.

Premier League giants Chelsea have confirmed their 27-man squad for the upcoming Sydney Super Cup.
The Blues are on their way to Australia and will face off against Isuzu UTE A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium on Tuesday, July 28.
Xabi Alonso’s side will then face London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the same venue on Saturday, August 1 in a game that is already close to selling out, with thousands of Premier League fans expected to flock to Accor Stadium on Saturday evening.

Alonso has included plenty of big names in his travelling party with English star Cole Palmer and Brazilian duo João Pedro and Estêvão among them, whilst new signing Marco Palestra is also part of the squad.

Chelsea's 2026 pre-season tour is officially underway as the Blues departed the UK today and we have gathered together some of our favourite images as the players and staff took flight for Australia.
The first leg of our pre-season tour takes in two matches in Sydney, against Western Sydney Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, with those games and every fixture during this tour available to watch live on CFC+.
New manager Xabi Alonso has taken an initial 28-man travelling squad to Australia, which departed Cobham for the long flight down under on Friday, and that number will grow during the tour as our internationals who were on World Cup duty over the summer return to join their fellow Blues for pre-season.
