Queensland Rugby League Confirm Billy Slater Stepping Down as Maroons Head Coach
Queensland Rugby League today confirmed that Billy Slater will conclude his tenure as Head Coach of the Queensland Maroons and will not return for the 2027 State of Origin series.
Since taking the reins ahead of the 2022 series, Slater has played a pivotal role in continuing the proud legacy of the Maroons, leading the team with distinction, passion and an unwavering commitment to Queensland.
QRL Chair Brian Canavan thanked Slater for his outstanding contribution to the Maroons program and the broader game in Queensland.
"Billy has made an extraordinary contribution to Queensland Rugby League, both as a player and as a coach," Canavan said.
