Andy Pages exits game in 5th inning after being hit by pitch in 3rd
LOS ANGELES — Andy Pages was replaced in center field after being hit by a pitch on his left hand during the Dodgers' series opener against the Pirates on Friday night at Dodger Stadium. The team announced that Pages has a contusion.
Pages took a 100.2 mph sinker from Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler off his hand in the bottom of the third inning. He was in visible pain, and manager Dave Roberts and a trainer accompanied him to first base. After being checked on, Pages initially remained in the game and played one more inning in the field.
But when the Dodgers took the field for the top of the fifth inning, Kiké Hernández replaced Pages in center field.
