Duetting with Lata, Bhosle’s melismatic falsetto in the song gives voice to the playful innocence of the film’s central love-child. The two-time Grammy nominee's family said she died at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai where she was admitted with complaints of "extreme exhaustion" and chest infection.
"My mother passed away today. Her last rites will be held tomorrow at Shivaji Park in Mumbai," her son Anand Bhosle told reporters.
