McIntosh's tribute to best mate Short
Great Richmond man, and two-time premiership player Kamdyn McIntosh, speaks on Jayden Short's 200th game.
Jayden Short is set to join his premiership teammate, Kamdyn McIntosh, in the elite 200 AFL games club, once he takes to the field on Friday night against Essendon.
McIntosh reflected on Short’s milestone achievement and how it was an honour to play alongside him at Richmond for all those years.
“It was obviously a privilege to play alongside Shorty,” McIntosh said.
“He is a very close mate of mine now, and he's just been such a good player for the footy Club, since he walked into the Club.

McIntosh said he still remembers Short’s first day at Richmond. “I’m a couple of years older than him, so I remember the first day he ever came to the Club, and he was just like an energiser bunny. All the boys just fed off his energy, and they loved it.” He added: “Then to go out there on game day, he just brings the same energy on the field.”

Tom Sims and a plethora of other AFL players return for the VFL Dreamtime clash.
Richmond forward Tom Sims will make his highly-anticipated return to football this weekend, pulling on the boots for Richmond VFL's Dreamtime clash against Essendon on Saturday morning.
It will be the 20-year-old's first game at any level in 286 days, since August 9, 2025, when Sims dislocated his elbow in a VFL match, and then was subsequently sidelined due to a foot injury throughout the pre-season.
Sims enjoyed a strong debut campaign last season, playing 11 AFL games and showcasing his strong potential around the ground.
Sims will be joined by AFL teammates Kaleb Smith, Samson Ryan and Liam Fawcett, who all return to the side for the Round 9 clash.
