Everton news: Johnson deal does not impact Grealish
The arrival of Brennan Johnson doesn't signal the end of Everton bringing back Jack Grealish for another season.
Grealish, 30, is still someone the Toffees would want to sign again, most likely on another loan from Manchester City, but he will need to have recovered from the foot surgery he underwent in January.
Johnson replaces Dwight McNeil so it isn't an extra man in and therefore this deal doesn't rule out another wide-player coming in. Looking at the squad three forward positions need to be covered, not including any additions to the strike force.
Grealish has made no secret he loved playing for the Toffees and his social media bio still has Everton as his club so if all parties can agree a deal then I would expect him to be back.

Jack Grealish has been told to snub a move back to Everton and join one of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur instead. Grealish is currently back at Manchester City after his loan spell with the Blues ended in June.
The England international now appears to have returned to full fitness though after being named on the bench for the Community Shield against Arsenal and then been brought on at half-time. However, there is a desire from Everton – and they believe on the side of the player – for him to return to the club this season.
